Sony has this week confirmed that the PS5 Slim console will be released in the UK this year.
There are two variants – a PS5 Digital Edition just for downloading games, and one with an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive. Both will feature a 1TB SSD for more internal storage, over the standard PS5’s 825GB.
PS5 Slim UK Price

The PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will retail for £479.99, while the PS5 Digital Edition (without a disc drive, built for downloading games) costs £389.99.
Of course, there may be slight price differences and offers based on the retailers selling the console.
For those who purchase the digital edition, they will have the option to buy an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive separately for £99.99.
A variety of PS5 Console Covers will also be available next year, including an all-matte Black colourway and the Deep Earth Collection colours in Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue and Sterling Silver. Prices for the PS5 Console Covers will start at £44.99.

PS5 Slim UK Retailers
While the full official list of PS5 Slim UK retailers has not yet been revealed, The Retailer Returns Report by webretailer.com has researched the delivery and returns policies of some of the UK’s most prolific online electronics and tech retailers.
They’ve ranked the top ten against the same ten factors to reveal the most convenient places to shop for electronics and tech products like the PS5 Slim.
See how the top ten electronics retailers in the UK have been ranked below:
Dell and Apple came out as the top two electronics retailers in the UK for returns and deliveries. Both of these brands offer free next-day delivery to customers, however, neither Dell nor Apple will be selling the PS5 Slim this November, as these brands prioritise their own gaming products.
Likewise, the PS5 Slim will not be available from Debenhams, which ranked third in this report. While Debenhams sells accessories for the PS5, such as gaming controllers, it does not sell the console itself.
The report says the best place to purchase your PS5 Slim in terms of the best delivery and returns options is Argos. The retailer ranked fourth overall in this report and offers customers a 30 days to return an unwanted item.
The results of this report also suggest that both Littlewoods and Currys are excellent places to purchase your PS5 Slim if good delivery and returns options are important to you. Both of these brands offer free standard delivery, which takes on average between 3-5 days. Better yet, Littlewoods does not require a minimum spend to activate this free delivery option.
There will be numerous options for shoppers to purchase a PS5 Slim this November, including Very, John Lewis and AO, which are all featured in the top ten tech and electronics retailers in this report. Other options are available, including purchasing directly from the PlayStation website itself.
Amazon is strangely absent from the list above – we’ve asked someone behind the report why and will update this article when we hear back.
