GRID launches GRID Odds to expand further into esports betting

GRID Odds, a new service for esports betting

Esports data platform GRID has announced the launch of GRID Odds, an esports betting service for gambling operators.

The product is now live for CS2, Dota 2, Valorant, and League of Legends. The company said GRID Odds offers clients accurate data-driven pricing, a wide range of markets, from match and map winner to player props, and in-round betting.

“GRID has been built on a single conviction: esports betting success depends on official data access. GRID Odds is the logical, scalable extension of that position,” said Thomas Warburton, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of GRID, in a press release.

Focus on in-play markets that dominate esports

GRID holds official data rights with Riot Games, Ubisoft, KRAFTON, ESL FACEIT Group, and BLAST, which enable greater in-play markets.

“Esports betting has now arrived and is the fastest-growing in-play sport on the board,” said the company. It noted that live betting now accounts for around 70% of all stakes in esports markets.

“In-map player options and in-round micro markets are not a modelling choice but rather are a question of access,” Warburton added. “Leveraging that access for our customers is why GRID Odds stands out in the market, letting us serve far more operators who are serious about esports.”

GRID pushes into betting and prediction markets

Warburton is leading GRID’s further push into esports betting, having previously spent six years at Sky Betting and Gaming. The company also appointed Evgeniy Bekker as VP of Trading, who has built its trading desk “from the ground up”. He previously served as Director of Trading at BETER.

“I am glad to have Evgeniy leading the trading side,” said Warburton. “He brings the experience to drive the business forward, with a team behind him that knows the success lies in the product.”

Part of the drive forward includes expanding into prediction markets. GRID partnered with Polymarket in June, which boosted its volume to record levels in July. The platform had $790 million in esports volume last month, a 33% increase from June.

While prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi are blocked in the UK, regulators are considering lifting restrictions.
