Isle of Man esports organisation X7 Esports are kicking off the New Year with a team bootcamp, bringing the new X7 League of Legends player roster and staff together.

The bootcamp will get underway in January 2022 at the University of Roehampton in London and X7 will follow the latest covid guidelines – Esports News UK is hoping to visit and interview some of the players.

X7 have partnered with Verbatim-owned gaming peripheral brand SureFire for the bootcamp.

In a press release, X7 said today: “In collaboration with the University of Roehampton, the bootcamp will enable us to produce lots of behind-the-scenes content, host interviews with special guests (to be announced in due course), and finally offer a chance for the organisation to meet each other in-person for the first time.

“SureFire will be providing the team with peripherals to use, and will also have a physical presence during our special event towards the end of the bootcamp, where they will be showcasing their products and hosting giveaways with attendees.”

This event will include a meet-and-greet with the X7 players, and a series of in-game tournaments between the X7 team and members of the public. Further details for this day will be released in the New Year.

X7 added: “Like X7, SureFire are still considered in their early growth stage. Acknowledging that our audience is spread throughout Europe, we believe SureFire to be a great fit for the brand, as their products are built to last and great value for money.

“This makes them easily accessible and appealing to a far wider range of gaming enthusiasts from across the continent. We will be featuring SureFire branding across our jerseys, created exclusively for the bootcamp in January, and throughout the content we produce whilst there.”

X7 will be playing in Division 1 of the Spring 2022 NLC, the European Regional League (ERL) for the UK, Ireland and Nordics.

Their first team roster includes German top-laner Jaeger, South Korean imports Haru and Tempt (jungle and mid respectively), Danish ADC Nata and UK support player Kasing.

X7 have been making waves in UK League of Legends this year after acquiring other orgs Bulldog and Absolved, and receiving a one-off esports sponsorship from the Isle of Man government for the UKEL.

While there is no ongoing funding from the Isle of Man government, X7 does have other investors.
