LEC Summer 2026 Week 2 preview: Can anyone catch Karmine Corp?

The second week of LEC Summer 2026 kicks off on July 31st, with the battle for three spots at this year’s World Championships heating up. Many of the teams competing will step onto the Rift for the first time this split, all hungry to secure a win in what will be a brutal week of competition.

With Karmine Corp already pulling away from the rest of the field, we take a closer look at their upcoming matches and other major storylines ahead of LEC Summer 2026 Week 2.

Karmine Corp’s dominance to continue

After an incredible comeback capped off a flawless opening week, Karmine Corp appear ready to maintain their momentum in their Week 2 matches. Up first is NAVI, a team hoping to open their LEC Summer 2026 campaign on the front foot. 

The last time the pair faced off was during the Spring Playoffs, with Karmine Corp emerging victorious after posting a convincing 3–1 scoreline. The French organisation have also played against NAVI two other times this year, beating them 1–0 and 2–0 during LEC Versus and the Spring regular season, respectively.

 At 1/6 (1.17), Karmine Corp have an 85.7%  implied probability of victory and look well-positioned to add a fourth victory to their record. By contrast, NAVI are priced at 7/2 (4.50), having won only a single game across their last three encounters with Karmine Corp.

On August 3rd, Karmine Corp will take on a Team Heretics side, hoping to rebound from a disappointing tenth-place finish in the Spring Split. Unlike NAVI, though, the Spanish organisation has managed to defeat Karmine Corp at LEC Versus in February.

That upset was built on superior late-game decision-making, with midlaner Tolga ‘Serin’ Ölmez going 9/0/4 and dealing a massive 23,571 damage on Aurora. However, the victory came in a best-of-one, and the team has been unable to carry the same level of performance into the Spring Split.

As a result, Karmine Corp’s price of 1/20 (1.05) is no surprise considering Team Heretics’ recent form. For those hoping for another upset, odds range between 15/2 (8.50) and 8/1 (9.00), implying there’s roughly an 11–12% probability of Team Heretics springing a surprise.

A chance for Fnatic redemption

Fnatic’s journey back to the summit of European League of Legends has taken a frustrating detour in 2026. After finishing third in the 2025 Summer Split, the British organisation has struggled to rekindle the form that once carried them deep at major international events. 

Despite continued rebuilding, the bar in Europe has risen sharply. New teams have surged to the top while Fnatic still hunts for the right group of players capable of consistently challenging Europe’s leading rosters.

An eighth-place finish at LEC Versus, seventh place in the Spring Split, and failure to qualify for the Esports World Cup have raised the stakes for the team’s Summer campaign, with qualification for Worlds now being a top priority.

The seven-time European champions take on Movistar KOI in the final match of day three. At 6/4 (2.50), the team heads onto the Rift as the underdogs with an implied probability of 40%, facing an opponent that has practically dominated the fixture for the past ten months.

Their first meeting in the LEC 2025 Summer Playoffs ran the full distance, with Movistar KOI securing a 3–2 victory. In game 5, David ‘Supa’ Martinez went 13/1/7 on Zeri, while Javier ‘Elyoya’ Batalla contributed a 1/4/13 KDA on Sejuani as KOI controlled the early game with superior objective setups and forced Fnatic into difficult positions around the dragons and Baron.

For Fnatic’s LEC Summer 2026 campaign, the signing of Lim ‘Soboro’ Seong-min brings a change to the black-and-orange top lane. In a recent video, head coach Fabian ‘GrabbZ’ Lohmann revealed he was impressed by Soboro’s laning ability, which could make all the difference in the early stages of a match.

Alongside the roster change, Elias ‘Upset’ Lipp has also teased the possibility of unexpected champion picks, revealing his hopes to play Twitch during the Summer Split. While Twitch isn’t necessarily a meta pick at the moment, the champion’s viability as a counter or part of a specific strategy could catch Movistar KOI off guard on the Rift.

Recent history clearly favours Movistar KOI, who are priced at 1/2 (1.50) and have a 66.67% implied probability of extending their winning streak against Fnatic. However, KOI enter the match following a winless opening week, giving Fnatic a chance to capitalise on their rival’s downward momentum.

With both teams looking to score their first victory of LEC Summer 2026, the fixture could prove far more competitive than their head-to-head record suggests.
