Hemingway wins Battle of Malta Online Main Event as series pays out $35.1 million

Hemingway has been crowned the headline Main Event champion of CoinPoker’s Battle of Malta Online, taking home $250,000 as the 23-day tournament series generated more than $35.1 million in total prize pools.

Battle of Malta Online ran from July 12 through August 3 and featured 764 tournaments, three Main Events and 77 trophy competitions.

CoinPoker originally guaranteed $30 million across the schedule, but final prize pools reached $35,120,885 after the series attracted 528,237 tournament entries excluding satellites.

A total of 8,191,330 hands were dealt across the festival.

Hemingway takes $250,000 Main Event title

The $565 Battle of Malta Online Main Event produced the largest prize pool of the series at $2,546,674 after attracting 4,778 entries.

Hemingway emerged victorious to claim the $250,000 top prize and finished the festival with $304,061.90 in total cashes, the highest amount recorded by a single player during the series.

Two further Main Event champions were crowned alongside Hemingway.

MarianexBJ claimed the $55 Main Challenger title and $50,000 in prize money, while Syn defeated an 11,663-entry field in the $11 Main Crusader to win $10,000.

Syn’s Main Crusader field was the largest of any Battle of Malta Online event.

All three winners received Battle of Malta trophies alongside permanent digital trophies through CoinPoker’s Trophy Cabinet.

monc wins $121,500 in CoinMillion

Battle of Malta Online opened with a special edition of CoinMillion carrying a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

monc ultimately won the tournament and collected $121,500.

Other finalists including n7v7rcapp7d, JohnnieTsunami, IdiOtsudaDavai and LappyPoker7 all secured five-figure payouts from the event.

CoinMillion will return during CoinPoker’s upcoming Global Online Poker Championship, with its next GOPC edition scheduled for September 6.

High Roller champions crowned

Several of the largest individual prizes of the series were awarded through Battle of Malta Online’s High Roller schedule.

pensefortement won the $1,500 CoinMasters Bitcoin High Roller for $235,000 and also received a gold-plated CoinMasters Bitcoin coin.

MystereEtBouleDeGomme secured The Iron Throne title and $129,129, while Giselle54 took down the $5,200 High Roller for $68,244.

Lukabrate finished runner-up in the latter tournament for $45,612.

One of the standout tournament runs came from QuirinHeinz69, who qualified for a $5,200 High Roller through a satellite before going on to win the event itself and turn the seat into a $96,547.50 cash.

Battle of Malta Online statistics

Some players accumulated an extraordinary amount of tournament volume during the three-week series.

B4baY4ga played 436 separate tournaments, the most recorded by a single competitor.

Even that pales next to the number of individual entries recorded by satellitesuper, who amassed 1,633 entries during the festival — approximately 58 every day.

futti18 and Discipline01 shared the record for the most tournament victories, each collecting four wins.

Across the festival as a whole, CoinPoker awarded 77 trophies to champions from selected events.

CoinPoker says player numbers reached a new record

The concluding weekend also delivered a new traffic milestone for CoinPoker.

According to the operator, more than 25,000 players were simultaneously online during the final weekend, marking the highest concurrent player count in the platform’s history.

Battle of Malta Online also acted as a qualifier for the Battle of Malta Autumn Edition live festival, with 100 packages worth $2,500 each awarded during the online competition.

Twenty-five packages came through the three Main Events, while 75 were awarded through the Battle of Malta Champion’s Trials.

The packages include a €600 Main Event entry alongside accommodation and travel allowance for the Malta event, which runs from October 27 to November 4.

$50 million Global Online Poker Championship comes next

Competitive action on CoinPoker resumes on a major scale with the Global Online Poker Championship, which begins August 23.

The GOPC will offer $50 million in guaranteed prize pools and introduce three regional schedules built around peak playing times in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Tournaments will be available across multiple buy-in tiers, ranging from $2.20 through to $25,500, with Medal Events, Main Events, High Rollers and satellites included in the schedule.

The $215 CoinMillion GOPC Edition will begin on September 6 with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

Following more than half a million entries and $35.1 million in prize pools at Battle of Malta Online, the GOPC will now become CoinPoker’s next major test of whether it can maintain that tournament momentum.
