Esports Charts has revealed what the most-watched esports games were on Twitch last year, including all streams, not just tournaments.
Esports titles continue to have a large presence on the streaming platform as viewers want to watch the best players of competitive games.
The usual suspects make up the top esports games, with the top five accounting for over one billion hours watched in 2025 alone.
Counter-Strike 2 is at the top of the pack with 372.65m hours watched last year.
This is certainly boosted by CS2’s healthy esports calendar with constant Major and LAN events throughout the year.
And 2025 was a particularly exciting year for the esport, especially with Team Vitality’s historic CS2 win streak.
Following closely behind with 307.17m hours watched was League of Legends.
While it doesn’t have an open circuit like CS2, LoL’s regular schedule crescendoing with the World Championship leads to strong narratives.
And it’s no surpirse that LoL viewership spiked massively once LoL Worlds started.
LoL’s high numbers have also been given a boost through co-streaming, with content creator Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont regularly drawing in more viewers than the official broadcast.
In third was another MOBA in Dota 2, which is still going strong with over 213m hours watched by its dedicated audience.
While nowhere near its previous peaks, Dota esports still draw in audiences, especially during the annual The International event.
Valorant is catching up to it with over 185m hours watched as yet another Riot Games title benefiting from and co-streamers.
Valorant was far ahead of fifth place Rainbox Six Siege, which mustered just under 35m hours watched.
Yet it was enough for the title to make the list, and things are looking up for the esport with the Six Invitational 2026 starting soon.
Esports viewership peaks in 2025
As for the peak esports viewership on Twitch of 2025, LoL took the crown with Worlds bringing in 1.66m concurrent viewers.
LoL Worlds 2025 also broke a viewership record for the Play-Ins, thanks to eventual champions T1 as they defeated Invictus Gaming.
Meanwhile, CS2 may have been last year’s most-watched esport overall, but it only came in at third here with a peak audience of 1.14m.
Sometimes you can’t beat the classics, and 1.23m tuned in on Twitch for Dota 2 and The International 2025.
As for the fifth and final place, Valorant just made it in with a peak of 696k on Twitch for Valorant Champions 2025.
