Method, the UK-based esports organisation and 12-time World First raid guild, has announced a partnership with Glorious Gaming ahead of the next Race to World First campaign in World of Warcraft. It comes after it partnered with Bolton-based computing supplier, SCAN, for its previous race.
Method’s roster will use Glorious Gaming gear throughout their Race to World First run and beyond. Pat Wachedorf, CEO of Glorious Gaming, said the partnership reflects what the brand stands for, describing Method’s Race to World First as “one of the most demanding tests in competitive gaming.”
There’s currently no details on when 12.1 is, kickstarting Season 2 of Midnight and the next Race to World First. But, it’s nice to know Method is getting themselves prepared for its next big test.
For those unfamiliar, Method started life in 2005 as a World of Warcraft raiding guild before growing into one of the most recognisable names in esports. Race to World First is the centrepiece of their identity, a gruelling competition to be the first team in the world to clear WoW’s latest raid on its hardest difficulty, often involving hundreds of hours of attempts across a matter of days. It has since become the most-watched event in the MMORPG scene, with Method at the heart of it for two decades.
While the org has undergone rebuild, it maintains competitiveness with splinter group, Echo, alongside North America’s Team Liquid, who has won the last four events. Method often grabs third place, and is almost always within range of fighting for second place on harder bosses.
Glorious Gaming is a Dallas-based PC gaming hardware brand known for its mice, keyboards, and mousepads. It focuses on high-performance, lightweight peripherals aimed at competitive players. Their mouse lineup in particular has built a strong reputation in the PC gaming community for precision and build quality, making them a natural fit for an organisation where split-second inputs can be the difference between a World First kill and a wipe. They don’t sell MMO mice though, the ones with the 14 programmable buttons.
Beyond the Race to World First partnership, Method has also been expanding its reach in recent months. It recently launched a dedicated indie game space on its website to spotlight and support smaller game developers. It’s a notable step for an organisation that built its reputation entirely within the MMO space. Method has worked on guide and evergreen content, getting its raiders and high tier players to write guides on their classes and specs. Moving into guide and coverage of other popular indie titles feels like a natural step for the org’s growth into content. You’ll soon learn to hate AI overviews.
