BLG defeated WBG quickly and decisively with a clean 3-0 in the Worlds 2024 semi-final LPL match-up, and will now face Korean giants T1 in the Worlds final at London’s O2 on Saturday November 2nd.
We interviewed jungler BLG Xun on what surprised him during the game, playing Skarner in three straight games and the key to winning Worlds in London this year.
Today, you successfully reached the finals after beating WBG from the LPL. How do you feel now? Let’s start with this question.
I feel especially happy; the game went very well. All our teammates performed great.
Was any of your in-game performance beyond your expectations? Is there anything special you’d like to share with us?
To be honest, I didn’t think I could play this many games with Skarner. I thought I might only get to play one game with him, as he would probably get banned after the first win.
I didn’t expect to play three games with him and win so easily.
Did you think before the game that you would win 3-0?
A lot of times, we lose the first game because we haven’t warmed up. We thought it would be 3-1, but surprisingly, we won 3-0 today.
Winning the first game often means it’s going to be an easier best-of-five.
Do you feel more confident now about the finals, perhaps thinking you could 3-0 your opponent?
I think both T1 and Gen.G are very good opponents. I can’t say for sure, but I think it will come down to our performance on the day.
What do you think was the key to your fast victory against WBG today? What are their weaknesses?
I think our draft was really good today. Thanks to our coach, we picked Skarner and Jax for every game. I think this made winning the games much easier.
Who do you think was the best player on your team today?
I think it was a team effort, including all five of us and our coach. Everyone did their job well.
Can you predict the result of the T1/Gen.G game? Who do you think will be your opponent in the finals in London?
I feel that both T1 and Gen.G are very strong teams. I wouldn’t be surprised by either one going through; it really depends on their performance on the day.
We’re prepared to play against either of them.
You’re one step away from winning the finals. What do you think is the key to victory?
I think if everyone does their job well, we will be able to win the finals naturally!
This is your first time playing in the finals. Can you share your feelings with us?
For me, it’s especially exciting; it’s my first time standing on the stage of the World Finals.
I’ll prepare myself to the best of my ability for the game.
Today, you played against an LPL team, but the finals will be against an LCK team. What do you think is the biggest difference between playing against LCK and LPL? This could be key to winning Worlds.
I think every team has its own playstyle. In a best-of-five, it really depends on each player’s condition. I think that will probably be the key to winning.
You’ll be going to London for Worlds. You’ve been there before at MSI London 2023. What is your impression of the city?
During the month we spent there, I felt that the weather was really nice. There wasn’t much rain; doesn’t it usually rain a lot there? When we were there, the weather was great.
I think the most enjoyable part was taking walks around the city. I really enjoy walking because, how do I put it? Walking outside gives me a leisurely, slow-paced lifestyle that feels very relaxing.
Is there anything else you want to add?
I’m very thankful to everyone who is watching our games. Thank you for your support; we will play in our best condition.
Can you say a few words in English?
Good morning, good afternoon, good night!
