Riot Games has today revealed more information around the Valorant VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 tournament.
VCT Ascension EMEA will see the winning team compete in the upper-tier VCT EMEA next year, competing with the top teams in the region, like Fnatic and Heretics.
It bridges the Challengers level with the upper-tier level, with teams in VCT able to reach the international level in the Masters and Champions LANs.
This year, Berlin’s Riot Games Arena will host the VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 lower final and grand final.
Last year, French org Gentle Mates won VCT Ascension, beating Apeks (from the UK/Nordics Polaris league) 3-0 in the final.
The news comes after Valorant Challengers esports changes were announced for 2025, and Fnatic was the first from EMEA to qualify for the top-tier Valorant Champions international LAN.
For this year, the format will remain unchanged, except for the group stage games, which will now be best-of-three instead of best-of-one.
Play-ins will include all second-place teams across the nine Challengers leagues, with the winner reaching the main tournament. There, they will join the nine Challengers winners in two randomly seeded groups of five, where each team will play a best-of-three against other teams in a round robin format.
The two top-placed teams from each group will then advance into a double elimination bracket. These games will also be best-of-three, with the exception of the lower final and grand final, which will be best-of-five.
VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 teams
The first team has been confirmed for Ascension EMEA 2024: Barcelona. Other possibilities include:

VCT Ascension EMEA 2024 dates
VCT Ascension EMEA Play-ins will start on July 28th 2024 and conclude on July 31st.
The group stage will run from August 31st to September 4th, with the playoffs starting September 7th and 8th.
The playoffs finals will take place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin on September 14th and 15th.

Tickets are available for the lower final on September 14th and grand final on September 15th at the Riot Games Arena.
Prices start from €15 on the Saturday and €20 on the Sunday.
