Benjyfishy Team Heretics VCT Valorant Player

British pro gamer Benjy ‘benjyfishy’ Fish has commented on his time with Heretics in the Valorant VCT Masters Madrid tournament this month.

Heretics were knocked out of the LAN event by Paper Rex 2-1 on Sunday in a close-fought match at the Madrid Arena.

Benjyfishy said: “They played better than us. Proud of my team for making it here and showing the potential we have.

“It was an unreal experience playing in this arena with all of the incredible fans, thank you for making it so special.

“Also, I got a bit too excited during split – I’m sorry if anyone thinks my shit talking was a bit much.”

Heretics added on Twitter: “We fall to the world runners-up and say goodbye to Masters Madrid. We have proven to be able to compete against the best and this has only just begun. Thank you very much for the support, see you at VCT EMEA.”

Benjyfishy joined Heretics last summer and spoke to Esports News UK at the VCT 2023 EMEA LCQ press conference, saying he’s the most confident he’s ever been.

The player previously competed in Fortnite, with Benjyfishy making the switch to Valorant a couple of years ago.

Valorant Masters Madrid has brought together some of the best Valorant teams in the world together.

“It was an unreal experience playing in this arena with all of the incredible fans, thank you for making it so special.”

There are four remaining teams – Gen.G vs Paper Rex and Sentinels vs Loud – with the grand final taking place this Sunday (March 24th 2024).

Fnatic shockingly didn’t qualify for Valorant Masters Madrid, despite British player Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett showing confidence ahead of the VCT 2024 EMEA Kickoff tournament. It was Karmine Corp and Heretics who qualified from that tournament to Masters Madrid, with Fnatic falling 2-0 to Karmine Corp in the semi-final.

In other recent Valorant esports news, at the grassroots level, the Valorant Spring 2024 Beacon season will be the final season before new national competitions launch for Northern Europe.
