UK artist D Double E and producer Fumez The Engineer have teamed up for Tekken 8 song (The Anthem), a new rap single celebrating the new game’s release.
The track dropped on streaming services from 7.30pm GMT on Wednesday January 31st 2024, including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Deezer, YouTube and Tidal.
In a press release, Tekken publisher Bandai Namco said the Tekken 8 song (The Anthem) is ‘moody and melancholic from the get-go’.
“Fumez constructs fluttering arpeggios that contrast with punchy bass throbs, whilst D Double E spits bars with lyrics centered around Tekken’s iconic character roster: “Not your landlord but I will evict you, your whole family gonna miss you, if I come swinging the sword like Yoshimitsu!”

“Anyone who listens to my music knows I love fighting games, so it just made sense to make a Tekken track that hits like a Mishima dragon uppercut!” added D Double E.
“I’ve been a Tekken player my whole life and I’m gassed for Tekken 8” said Fumez The Engineer. “I couldn’t think of a better tag team partner than Double.”
Celebrating 30 years this year, Tekken is a fighting game franchise that first launched on the original PlayStation and now spans mediums with film and print adaptations. The series follows the events of the King of Iron Fist Tournament, hosted by the Mishima Zaibatsu.
Tekken 8 is the latest game in the series that released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on January 26th. It continues the tragic saga of the Mishima bloodline and its father-and-son grudge matches. After defeating his father, Heihachi Mishima in Tekken 7, Kazuya continues his conquest for global domination, using the forces of G Corporation to wage war on the world.
Jin Kazama is forced to face his fate head-on as he is reunited with his long-lost mother and aims to stop his father Kazuya’s reign of terror.
Tekken is also of course one of the UK’s prominent games in the FGC (fighting game community).
