12 competitive local UK Street Fighter 6 events to be aware of across the UK

With the release of the new Street Fighter game back in June, there have been a number of weekly UK Street Fighter 6 events taking place.

Some of these are new, while others are continuing on from the previous instalment of the classic fighting game series.

Included here is a list of those UK Street Fighter 6 events for those interested in competing or spectating their local scenes. Some events may be missing as new events are announced – if you have an event you feel we should add to this page, please DM us on Twitter.

Fight Lab Weekly – London

Starting in London, The Fight Lab takes place at Meltdown Esports Bar in Islington every Tuesday, with an average entrant count of 40 players each week. The UK Street Fighter 6 tournament does take place in a bar so all entrants must be 18 or older.

Previously the team ran Street Fighter 5 events at the same location, as well as other events in Brighton and London. The UK Street Fighter 6 tournament games are run on 144hz monitor PC setups, with friendly setups on PS4s.

Updates about the event can be found on the Fight Lab Twitter, with the event itself also being streamed on the FightLab Twitch channel every week.

Winner Stays On – London

Another event in London, this time at Platform Gaming Bar in Canary Wharf. Taking place every Wednesday, the event is in partnership with team Reversal. All the setups for the event use PlayStation 5s, with 144hz monitors, with an average of 24 entrants per event. Street Fighter 6 is the only game at this event.

All updates for the UK Street Fighter 6 event can be found either on the WinnerStaysOn Twitter or on the Reversal Twitter. The event is also streamed every week on the Reversal Twitch channel.

Rushdown Edinburgh – Edinburgh

Off to Scotland now with Rushdown Edinburgh, taking place every Monday at The Golf Tavern. All tournament sets are on PS4 setups, with the Stream for the event having a PS5 setup.

The Rushdown Edinburgh UK Street Fighter 6 events are unique though in where they rotate between different fighting games each week, with an average of 20 entrants each week.

Street Fighter 6 monthly tournaments at SideQuest

Gaming cafe chain SideQuest has also revealed that it will be hosting a UK Street Fighter 6 monthly tournament.

The first tournament, called Battle Hub, will be on July 27th at 5pm BST in the Westfield Stratford hub. It’s £12 for entry to the BYOC event, with cash and GFuel prizes. The SideQuest SF6 sign up page is on Start.gg here.

Burn to Fight – Glasgow

In Scotland again but this time in Glasgow is Burn to Fight, taking place every Thursday at West End Games board game café, as well as running over events on the same night for Guilty Gear Strive, King of Fighters and Tekken.

The team has also partnered with Geek Retreat Glasgow to run UK Street Fighter 6 events in their store.

Waistman Weeklies – Bristol

The Waistman Weeklies hosted by SuperMinerBattleFarm team at The Lanes in Bristol every Sunday. They have hosted a number of events across South West England and Wales for Street Fighter, Tekken, Guilty Gear and Puyo Puyo Tetris.

The Waistman Weeklies currently focus on UK Street Fighter 6 as the main game with secondary tournaments for Tekken 7 as part of the Tekken World Tour and Guilty Gear Strive. Tournament games are ran on PlayStation 4s.

Merseybeats – Liverpool

Taking place at The Pilgrim Pub, MerseyFGC offers the local scene a chance to get together, play some casual games and get to know each other. The event which takes place every Thursday is free to attend, with no tournaments happening. The team at MerseyFGC run monthly UK Street Fighter 6 events though happening towards the end of every month which include Street Fighter 6, Tekken and Guilty Gear.

The team are also running Drowning Pools 2023, Liverpool’s hallmark FGC event with tournaments for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Strive, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Skullgirls with more games to be announced.

Newcastle Fight Club – Newcastle

Newcastle’s Newcastle Fight Club takes place every Sunday at the Pacific House. The UK Street Fighter 6 event takes place twice a month with the main tournament being for Street Fighter 6, with secondary tournaments for Guilty Gear, Tekken, and other fighting games. The secondary tournaments usually rotate out and change with other fighting games.

Hyper Combo – Leicester

Taking place at Duffy’s Bar in Leicester, Hyper Combo takes place once a month on Monday. Previous iterations have rotated what fighting game tournament takes place, but since the release of Street Fighter 6, that has been the main game the team has been running for the event. All tournament games are hosted on PlayStation 4 setups.

Sunday Face Off – Leeds Pixel Bar

Sunday Face Off run weekly casuals every Wednesday and monthly tournaments on a Sunday.

They mainly run SF6, T7, Strive and KOF XV tournaments, with other games on occasion too.

This takes place at UK gaming bar chain Pixel Bar in Leeds from 5pm BST.

Manchester Battle Arena – Manchester Pixel Bar

Manchester Battle Arena (MBA) has a focus on Tekken 7 and SF6 casuals and on-stream FT10s alongside community driven games like BlazBlue CF, SoulCalibur VI and Guilty Gear Xrd.

It runs on Mondays from 6pm BST til late at Pixel Bar Manchester.

MBA also run monthly tournaments on Sundays for a variety of games including Tekken dojos.

Electronic Dojo UK Street Fighter 6 events – Birmingham

Whilst there is currently no confirmed news, the team behind VSFighting XI have teased that they are currently working on plans to run their own UK Street Fighter 6 locals. The date and location of the event are currently unknown, but the team previously ran a Street Fighter 6 launch event at Belong Gaming Arena in Birmingham New Street.

Signups are still open for VSFighting XI, the UK’s biggest fighting game event taking place from August 18th to 20th with tournaments for Street Fighter 6, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Strive, King of Fighters XV, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, SoulCaliber VI and 3rd Strike. This will be the first major event in the UK to host the Street Fighter.
