ALGS Split 2 Playoffs: Broadcast talent, esports team booths and new Apex Legends collection event announced

The Apex Legends ALGS Split 2 Playoffs are just around the corner, landing at London’s Copper Box Arena from July 13th to 16th – and new info has been announced today (image credit: Jonas Kontautas).

February saw the an ALGS LAN hosted in the UK for the first time, with the Copper Box hosting the Split 1 Playoffs – the first LAN of the 2022-2023 Year 3 season.

Fan favourites TSM snatched the ALGS Split 1 title in London in spectacular style, and are back for Split 2 to defend their title.

Celebrating Year 3 Split 2 being the most watched Pro League Split so far, EA and Respawn are now offering a host of broadcast talent, new activities to enjoy at the Playoffs, and an Apex Legends collection event.

ALGS Split 2 Playoffs, Apex Legends Global Series

Following the success of the Split 1 Playoffs, Split 2 ensures that attendees will not miss a second of the action. Instead of hosting a B-stream with games played off the main stage, as per the Split 1 format, Split 2 will have every game played on the main stage and main broadcast.

Here is when to expect all the action during the event:

  • Group Stage Day 1: 13th of July, beginning at 10:00 BST
  • Group Stage Day 2: 14th of July, beginning at 10:00 BST
  • Bracket Stage: 15th of July, beginning at 10:00 BST
  • Finals: 16th of July, beginning at 16:00 BST

As expected, the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs will also feature a top talent line-up. The familiar faces of VikkiKitty, Glitterxplosion, Onset and Raynday will be joined by TSM’s Sabz and Sentinals’ Rkn.

For those concerned about where fan favourites and B-stream hosts NiceWigg and Greek will be during the event, the iconic duo will be hosting the ALGS Official Watch Party. However, don’t forget the main broadcast, where Twitch Drops and Multiview are available.

Spidertiff, Dan Gaskin, Genome and Dia will also feature:

Carrying the momentum from Year 3 Split 2 forward, EA recognises the value found in London’s esports scene. The company is bringing more activities to the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs to celebrate the competition with fans.

Between matches, fans will now have the opportunity to visit team booths to purchase their merchandise and connect with their favourite organisations. TSM, DarkZero, Alliance, Luminosity and Jlingz have already confirmed their booths will be open for business.

There will also be limited-edition Split 2 Apex Legends merchandise, ALGS-branded giveaways, and meet-and-greets with top competitors and talent.ALGS sponsors Monster Energy will also give everyone who passes their truck free energy drinks.

Those craving some gaming time during the event can also enjoy the WD_Black gaming bus, which will be parked outside the Copper Box arena for fans to squad up and drop in.

The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs are set to be a true celebration of Apex Legends Esports.

Respawn launches ‘Dressed to Kill’ Collection Event for Apex Legends: Arsenal, with ‘Armed and Dangerous’ limited-time game mode

In the lead-up to the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs, game developer Respawn is celebrating the latest season of Apex Legends, ‘Arsenal’.

24 new limited-time cosmetics are available between June 20th and July 4th, including new legendary skins for Ash, Crypto, Horizon and more. Collecting all 24 before the event ends will award you Horizon’s new Heirloom weapon, ‘Gravity Maw’.

Respawn is also bringing back the fan favourite game mode, ‘Armed and Dangerous’.

Only Shotguns and Snipers will be available in the loot pool, with lower basic shield spawns, raising the stakes for every player.

The game mode tends to see more diverse champion picks and creative plays, cementing its place as one of the most popular LTMs (limited time modes).
