Lewis ‘YaBoiLewis’ Hughes, a UK Valorant player for Fokus, has helped his team reach the VCT (Valorant Champions Tour) EMEA Stage 2 Challengers.

They defeated BIG 2-0 in the upper bracket final of the VCT Challengers Promotion tournament yesterday to qualify, winning 13-5 on Bind and 13-9 on Fracture.

Prior to the promotion tournament, Fokus won Stage 1 of the DACH Evolution Valorant Regional League last month, beating the likes of top-of-the-table Mouz in the playoffs.

Lewis expressed his delight with yesterday’s win by sharing this clip on Twitter:

Lewis added: “Just want to say that I wouldn’t have performed anywhere near the level I did without the help from [esports chiropractor] Jonathan Chung. I was struggling a lot with bad wrist pain throughout but he helped me through it with rehab so would 100% recommend to anyone struggling with any injuries.”

Fokus finished top of their group (B) in the promotion tournament, beating Anonymo and Team Falcons.

Then, in the playoffs bracket, they defeated Surreal Esports 2-1, before beating SuperMassive Blaze (SMB) 2-0. In this match, they picked up the first game for free after an SMB player was late to turn up:

They then beat BIG in the upper-bracket final.

Elsewhere, UK’s Excel Esports – who won Northern Europe’s first Valorant Regional League the other week – had a disappointing run in the promotions tournament.

They finished group A in third place behind Rebels and Surreal, after picking up one win (against Sector One) and two losses, falling 2-1 to Surreal in the decider match.

In other recent UK Valorant news, Fnatic and Team Liquid qualified for the higher-tier 2022 Valorant VCT Stage 1 Masters LAN, which gets underway tomorrow (April 10th 2022).
