Blast to deliver all Fortnite FNCS events in 2022

Esports tournament organiser Blast, which has offices in London, has agreed to a year-long partnership with Epic Games to produce and deliver all Fortnite FNCS events in 2022.

Following the success of last year’s FNCS All-Star Showdown and FNCS Grand Royale events, the year-long collaboration will see Blast operate the entire FNCS Chapter 3 broadcast schedule during each Fortnite season.

The partnership is Blast’s biggest project since the creation of Blast Premier in Counter-Strike.

The best Fortnite players from around the world will be competing at FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1, where they will be vying for a share of the $3m+ prize pool. The action begins today (Thursday February 17th 2022).

Leo Matlock, MD for development at Blast, said: “We are delighted to be able to establish this year-long partnership with Fortnite. Blast has been able to build trust and a fantastic working relationship with the Fortnite Competitive team to create incredible experiences for the community.

“The fact that one of the world’s leading game titles has entrusted its 2022 competitive scene to us is testament to the world-class output we’ve created during this period, and we believe we’re just at the beginning of our journey.”

Leo Matlock, Blast

“We loved every minute of FNCS All-Star Showdown and FNCS Grand Royale and have amazing plans for FNCS Chapter 3. We have a record amount of content for fans to enjoy alongside our world-class production as the best in the world battle it out.

“This kind of collaboration with publishers has become a huge area of growth and focus for Blast as a business over the last 18 months. The fact that one of the world’s leading game titles has entrusted its 2022 competitive scene to us is testament to the world-class output we’ve created during this period, and we believe we’re just at the beginning of our journey.”

The UK has a host of top Fortnite talent, with well-known players including Wolfiez, Benjyfishy, Mongraal (the most talked about esports player on Twitter) and more.

Blast has experience in delivering esports events and tournaments in a number of popular titles.

Last week, Blast announced it had entered FIFA 22 esports and will produce the 2021/22 ePremier League.
