The League of Legends LEC has confirmed the broadcast caster line-up for 2022, and it includes a host of UK talent.

British streamer, Esports Analyst of the Year and caster Caedrel has returned on the LEC desk as a colour caster, clearing up uncertainty around Caedrel’s future after he was linked with a coaching role with Team Vitality’s recently announced LEC ‘superteam’.

Prominent UK caster duo Medic (play-by-play) and Vedius (colour, together aka ‘MediVedi’) are also joining the broadcast team once again, while a trio of UK and Ireland talent will also be making appearances this year as regular guests on the show.

Irish casters Oisín Molloy and Dagda will be joining as regular guests, following a great year casting Worlds and the Chinese LPL. Oisín Molloy and Dagda were also recently named in the LPL caster line-up for 2022, alongside UK talent Aux and Munchables.

And rising UK star Nymaera has also been confirmed as a regular guest caster for the LEC in 2022.

And from the League of Legends European Regional League (ERL) for the UK, Ireland and Nordics, the NLC, talent Guldborg and Trouble will be joining the LEC, the former on the main team as a colour caster and the latter as a regular guest.

Other big returning names to the LEC this year include desk host Sjokz, interviewer Laure “Bulii” Valée and play-by-play casters Daniel Drakos and Quickshot, who has returned to the LEC after breaking his silence with post about burnout, taking time off and breaking down barriers around mental health.

Riot Games made the announcement in a video posted on Twitter above, which mentioned there will be ‘many more’ guest casters appearing on the LEC throughout the year.

On June 8th, Riot posted the following update for the Summer 2022 LEC season:

Riot said: “We’re excited to continue opening up the talent pool to a wide variety of casters, which gives our main team a chance to catch their breath between games, as well as give talented casters and analysts a chance to shine on our stage.

“We may even have some surprise guests appear on the streams throughout Spring – you’ll have to watch and find out who comes along for the ride!”

The line-up is missing UK caster and streamer Foxdrop, who posted this update:

The Spring 2022 LEC kicks off on January 14th 2022 with a superweek.

Earlier this week, a Wildfire 2022 LEC music video starring Vedius, Drakos and rock band Against the Current was launched to promote the LEC returning. It also marked the first collaboration between Riot casters and a music artist.

The NLC 2022 caster line-up was also recently announced.
