The 2021 Esports Awards winners have been announced, and the UK’s LEC caster and former League of Legends pro player Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont has won Esports Analyst of the Year.
Finalists included a host of other UK talent. UK coaches up for awards included Mac and MarkyB, colour casters Vedius and Johnnyboi_i, and play-by-play casters Machine, ODPixel and Pansy were also up for awards.
This year’s nominees with UK offices included the likes of Dexerto, Hitmarker, The Story Mob, Hitmarker, Blast, Faceit and more. France-based Prodigy Agency also has UK-based talent manager Crane working for them.
British journalists nominated for Esports Journalist of the Year included Richard Lewis and Adam Fitch, with Kevin Hitt of the Esports Observer picking up the award.
The final ceremony took place on November 20th at Esports Stadium Arlington.
Key moments from the evening included Lexus showcasing the Gamers’ IS, a one-of-a-kind vehicle designed by and for gamers, and digital appearances from Jürgen Klopp, Luke Combs and Steve Aoki. As well as this, money was raised across the event for Make-A-Wish, with the Truman Factory announcing they were donating $10,000 towards the cause.
The main Esports Awards judging panel can be found here, as well as the creative panel and collegiate panel, with a host of well-known names including UK talent.
British esports host Alan Brice was vice chair of the panel, Rektglobal chief gaming officer Michael O’Dell was also on the panel, as was journalist Richard Lewis.
On the creative panel was Kalvin ‘KalKal’ Chung, co-founder of UK org MNM Gaming, and on the collegiate panel was Twitch’s Mark ‘Garvey’ Candella among others.
All awards except for the Panel’s Choice Award were open to community vote, with the community accounting for 25% of the overall vote and the Panel makes up 75% of the vote.
“As we conclude our sixth year I think it’s important to sit back and recognise just how far the esports industry has grown and the increased innovation and dedication we see year after year,” said Michael Ashford, CEO, Esports Awards.
“I am so thrilled that we were able to return to a live event and give our winners the opportunity to be celebrated in true style. At the Esports Awards we pride ourselves on creating a lasting legacy and this year’s event has certainly been one for the history books.”

Dom is an award-winning writer and finalist of the Esports Journalist of the Year 2023 award. He graduated from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 degree in Multi-Media Journalism in 2007.
As a long-time gamer having first picked up the NES controller in the late ’80s, he has written for a range of publications including GamesTM, Nintendo Official Magazine, industry publication MCV and others. He worked as head of content for the British Esports Federation up until February 2021, when he stepped back to work full-time on Esports News UK and offer esports consultancy and freelance services. Note: Dom still produces the British Esports newsletter on a freelance basis, so our coverage of British Esports is always kept simple – usually just covering the occasional press release – because of this conflict of interest.
