Division 6ix becomes latest UK esports organisation to launch its own crypto tokens

Division 6ix, a UK-based esports organisation and tournament provider, has launched a 30-day pre-ICO (initial coin offering) for its new cryptocurrency: D6ix Tokens.

The company says it recently raised £2m in its private sale of the tokens, with the ICO running through February 2022.

The D6ix Tokens are designed to ‘boost players earning potential’ by using the tokens for content creation, streaming games, tournament prizes, wagers and more. Fans can earn tokens by engaging with players and watching their content.

The company, which has been in existence since early 2020, offered an annual Division 6ix ‘Season Pass’ last year, granting members access to coaching and events, and said it has plans to expand across Europe, Asia and America.

Div 6ix’s four-month tournament season begins in January in a variety of games, including Valorant, FIFA, Fortnite and CoD, with prize pools ranging from cash to NFTs, gems and D6ix Tokens.

Tournaments include the Division 6ix Academy Cup, Championships, Masters and UK Super Cup.

Players who perform well can get promoted to one of Div 6ix’s own teams, or they can ‘request to get discovered’ for 100 D6ix in-game tokens (£4.99) and play against Dix 6ix’s semi-pro players, before potentially being drafted in themselves.

“We are literally levelling the playing field,” said Division6ix CEO Olu Adenekan. “The Esports industry is saturated with so many pro players and content creators that it’s a challenge for emerging talent to break through and make money from their passion.

“Our focus is the development of players from amateur to professional level and then giving them the tools to earn income, build a following and increase revenue opportunities.

“Our end goal is to create success for our players in as many ways as possible – as players, as content creators and now, as investors.”

Late last year, fellow UK esports org Endpoint launched a blockchain fan token.
