The EA FIFA 21 Global Series will arrive on the BBC this weekend (February 20th to 21st).
The European Regional Qualifiers will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online.
The competition is already well underway, pitting the top FIFA competitors from every corner of the world in an international tournament to vie for their share of the $3m prize pool.
Football and esports fans alike will be able to follow the European Regional Qualifiers on the BBC as top esports athletes, representing their favourite European football teams, clash against one another to secure a spot at the FIFAe World Cup.
This will be the third football esport tournament that the BBC has shown live after successful broadcasts of the ePremier League which featured star players such as Raheem Sterling, Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Maddison showing off their off-field gaming skills.
Full coverage of the EA FIFA 21 Global Series European Regional Qualifiers can be watched on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online starting from 5.15pm on Saturday February 20th and Sunday February 21st.
The schedule of the FIFA 21 European Regional Qualifiers and Playoffs is as follows:
- European Regional Qualifier 3: February 20th – 21st
- European Regional Qualifier 4: March 20th – 21st
- European Regional Qualifier 5: April 24th – 25th
- European Playoffs: TBC
The news comes after the BBC has broadcast a range of other esports tournaments and content recently, including an Excel Esports documentary, the League of Legends UKLC, Rocket League RLCS X and the CSGO Blast Premier Series.
The BBC has dabbled in esports in prior years too, including covering the League of Legends World Championship quarter finals at Wembley back in 2015.
