Along with Last Remedy and Batmani Begins, team Sensei are another newcomer to the ESL UK League of Legends this split, but we haven’t heard much about them just yet.
So who are they and what do they hope to achieve this season? Dominic Sacco asks PR/marketing executive William “Kaiprioska” Roche about the org.
Sensei was founded in February 2015 under the guise of Enigma Esports, who went onto challenge for the top spots in the Ranked 5’s ladder, at numerous LAN events and in online tournaments across Europe.
Earlier this year the org rebranded to Sensei as they aim to continue to grow.
The League of Legends team roster is as follows:
- Top: Daniel “Aviril” Barnett
- Jungle: Tyrin “Tyrin” Davidson (aka Dandychap)
- Mid: Brixton “Brixton” Hamilton
- ADC: Nihat “Innaxe the God” Aliev
- Support: Emil “AT Grisen” Brouwer
Management include MD Nick “Berserk” Smith, team manager Alex “AlexWillows” Willows and coach Kristoffer “Utama” Odland.
“Getting into the UK scene has been something that we have been considering as an org for a while,” William explains. “After our recent performance at Gamescom, we decided to finally take the plunge by picking up one of the teams that had already qualified for this season’s Premiership – and simply build a new roster for the upcoming split.
“We’re hoping to make a notable splash and will be planning on putting on some entertaining games for our fans.”
What are Sensei’s aims and ambitions for the ESL UK Premiership summer split?
“In terms of the other teams within the Premiership (all drama aside) we would have to say that MnM, TCA and Last Remedy are likely to be considered as the better teams within the league right now,” Kaiprioska says.
“Due to the reseeding of the teams we currently think that getting out of the group stage is a realistic goal for us. And then, given the time, we have to refine and hone our skills, so that when the time comes we should be looking to compete for the title itself.”
Kaiprioska adds: “While this may be our first foray into the ESL Premiership and other teams may have already had more exposure within the scene, we’re hoping to make a notable splash and will be planning on putting on some entertaining games for our fans.
“We go into the Premiership as underdogs, but hopefully we can show its not about the dog in the fight, it’s the fight in the dog that matters!”
