Riot Games has revealed Valorant’s latest map, Summit, alongside a new 3v3 mode and a fresh skin collection, all dropping with Season 2026 Act 4 on June 24th. The announcement was made during the Masters London Grand Finals broadcast at the Copper Box Arena, where Paper Rex and Leviatán faced off for the trophy. It comes after the Valorant Masters: London event was won by Leviathan, the South American org with Chilean, Brazilian and Argentine representatives who battled all the way through from the Play-Ins.
Summit is Valorant’s latest map, themed around Sage
Summit is set in a Radiant training academy nestled in the mountains of China, serving as the former site where Sage studied before joining Valorant. It’s the 13th map in the game’s roster and follows the standard two Spike sites, three-lane layout, yet it has a gimmick.
Summit’s signature gimmick is its three droppable walls, one each on A site, B site, and Mid. Each wall is triggered by shooting a dedicated node, and once dropped, it cuts off sightlines and rotation paths for the rest of the round. It might create some interesting rotations, block off a pathway a retake is coming from, or other, more tactical usages of it. We’ll leave the tactical nuance to the professionals.
Summit will be available to play in Competitive queue immediately upon launch. During the first two weeks, players lose 50% less RR for losses on Summit, but still gain 100% RR for wins. That should help players get a good feel for the map and not feel too bad about losing while learning on it. A Summit Only queue will also be available for seven days using the Swiftplay format if you’d rather learn the map in a more casual setting.
New game mode, and cosmetics are also on the way
The second major announcement is Retake, which is launching as a permanent 3v3 mode. The round starts with the Spike already in play: one team defends the site while the other attacks to clear the defenders and defuse the spike. Sides swap every round, and the match runs to five round wins. Not bad if you’re looking for a faster game mode on the side.
At the start of each round, players will pick two cards. One option contains weapons and armour, and one for ability charges. Each card will offer two randomised options, and these randomised loadouts will escalate as the game progresses. Retake uses single bomb sites from existing maps within a curated map pool for the mode
Act 4 also introduces the Blackspyre Collection, blending sci-fi and mystical influences into a new set of swanky cosmetics. Weapons included in the collection are the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, Ares, and new melee, the Divide. The new Battle Pass costs 1,000 VP and includes the Sky Reaper Ghost skin, the Heal Up Squad player card, and the Blep spray among its rewards. There will undoubtedly be more shiny new skins to grab as the season progresses.
