GTA 6 physical copies may be delayed with separate 2027 release

According to a reliable leaker, Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) could face even further delays for a physical release.

GTA 6 has been delayed twice already and is now set to finally launch on November 19th, 2026.

However, reputable insider ‘Graczdari’ from Polish website PPE believes a physical version won’t be available on that date.

In fact, to avoid leaks, the physical disc version of GTA 6 may not release until sometime in 2027.

This insider has previously been correct about various reports, including the PS5 port for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

The report says:

“We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks.”

Other games with a lot of excitement, like The Last of Us 2, have already suffered from this after stolen retail copies get streamed online.

This can then lead to major spoilers flooding the internet before the game even releases.

How long this potential delay for a physical version could be is currently up in the air.

According to PPE, there are conflicting reports about when the physical version will eventually launch:

“Some say that the physical release will appear 3-4 weeks after the digital premiere, while others say that this will not happen before the beginning of 2027.”

Only digital console copies of the long-awaited GTA 6 may be available this year. There’s still no word of a PC release date.

PPE claims we’ll learn more about this delay in mid-February, as Take-Two’s quarterly earnings call is scheduled for February 3rd.

This decision will certainly be controversial, especially for those wanting a disc version to save memory.

Xbox has already revealed that GTA 6 will be 676 GB upon release. A Digital PS5 comes with 825 GB of storage.

GTA 6 leaking issues

However, GTA 6 has already been plagued by details and gameplay footage being released early.

Rockstar fired multiple employees for allegedly leaking information, but some accused the dismissals as union busting.

Even British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his concern over the GTA 6 union-busting claims.

Meanwhile, Rockstar has heavily refuted these claims.

Though these firings appear to confirm some major details that appeared in leaks during similar time frames.

Allegedly, there will be over 700 enterable stores, including malls.

Supposedly, the six-star wanted level will return but further details have not yet been revealed.

Additionally, GTA 6 will apparently include both male and female strippers for the first time ever.

And in a possibly massive change to gameplay, players will supposedly be able to roam as Jason, Lucia, or both of them at the same time.
