G2 Esports have partnered with former NLC organisation Nord Esports to create a new League of Legends academy team.
G2 Nord will compete in the Prime League, the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, etc.) EMEA Regional League (ERL), this year.
And popular German LoL streamer Niklot ‘Tolkin’ Stüber has joined as president, likely co-streaming and leading the team’s content.
He is the second LoL streamer to partner with the organisation after former LEC jungler Marcin ‘Jankos’ Jankowski recently returned to G2.

Win EMEA Masters 🔥

The roster for the new G2 Nord academy team is:
- Top: Francesco ‘Shelfmade’ Cardia
- Jungle: Mark ‘Markoon’ van Woensel
- Mid: Alex ‘Toasty’ Chea
- AD Carry: Khalil ‘Rin’ Sahraoui
- Support: Timo ‘Tockimo’ Bock
- Head Coach: Nicolas Perez
Many LoL will remember Dutch jungler Markoon during his three-year stint in the LEC with Excel Esports, SK Gaming, and Rogue.
Toplaner Shelfmade helped Berlin International Gaming (BIG) win the Prime League last split and competed at EMEA Masters Summer 2025.
Midlaner Toasty is considered one of North America’s brightest prospects and is considered a major loss for the organisation.
American jungler Johnny ‘Yukino’ Dang has been incredible for Karmine Corp Blue, so G2 Nord are clearly hoping for similar results.
I am running out of way to publicly beat this dead horse but losing yet another NA prospect to Europe is driving me insane

Good for Toasty though and hoping for the best for him https://t.co/H6yGKISebt
Nord leaving is another huge blow to the NLC after Los Ratones departed too.
Nord sported an ambitious roster full of experience with Jankos, but couldn’t stop Los Ratones from winning three consecutive NLC titles.
Michel Klepper, CEO and co-founder of NORD Esports, says this partnership is “a lifelong dream becoming a reality.”
“From the very beginning, our goal has been to develop the best young talents, give fans a team to cheer for and take them with us on this exciting esports journey.
“G2 gives us the incredible opportunity to learn from the most successful team in the West, and at the same time, Tolkin is the ideal bridge to the community,” Klepper added.
G2 Esports’ previous LoL academies
This is the first time in three years that G2 will run an academy LoL team after disbanding the secondary team at the end of 2022.
Though they did sport the G2 Hel women’s LoL team, which made history by qualifying for Tier 2. However, the team has now been disbanded.
G2 first created an academy back in 2019 after partnering with now LEC partners Team Heretics to enter G2 Heretics in Spain’s LVP.
Following that one-year stint, the org continued to compete in Spanish ERLs with G2 Arctic in partnership with Arctic Gaming.
No players were ever promoted from that academy, but a lot of strong players were developed by the team.
Óscar ‘Oscarinin’ Muñoz Jiménez, David ‘Supa’ Martínez García, and Álvaro ‘Alvaro’ Fernández del Amo all played for G2 Arctic.
