CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) have strengthened their League of Legends roster with the signing of jungler Zhao ‘Shad0w’ Zhi-Qiang.
The LPL Summer champion will now move to Taiwan to compete in his third major region after playing in China and Europe.
CFO dominated the LCP, winning all three splits to become the only team to play in every international in 2025.
And they shocked teams at those events too, CFO even beat eventual champions T1 at LoL Worlds 2025.
Welcome Shad0w

We are pleased to announce CFO's new Jungler Shad0w. After competing in LEC and LPL he ready to apply his many skillsets to the LCP. With his vast knowledge and flexible playstyle, we hope to show you what we can achieve pic.twitter.com/Hh7OdA3uUU
However, the team has had some of their top players snapped up as a result of their fantastic season.
Promising 18-year-old midlaner Tsai ‘HongQ‘ Ming-Hong and jungler Yu ‘JunJia‘ Chun-Chia have moved to JD Gaming in China’s LPL.
So, CFO have indirectly traded with the LPL to sign Shad0w, who was part of the six-man Bilibili Gaming roster to win LPL 2025 Split 3.
In doing so, Shad0w became the first European to become an LPL champion and starred in their two playoff victories over Top Esports.
However, subbing him in mid-series didn’t work at Worlds as LPL’s top seeds BLG failed to make it through the Swiss Stages.

WTF what is that Fraud run
Similarly, Shad0w’s other Worlds appearance was equally disappointing.
The Italian pro had a fantastic rookie year with MAD Lions in the LEC, making it into the 2020 LEC Summer Split All-Pro team.
Shad0w helped MAD Lions qualify for LoL Worlds, only to shockingly be eliminated from the Play-Ins.
He also attended LoL Worlds 2024, but only as an unused substitute.
Joining CFO gives Shad0w very good odds of attending Worlds once again with how the team dominated the LCP.
Especially now that PSG Talon have been removed from the LCP by Riot Games.
Though CFO themselves are undergoing a major rebuild with significant pressure on the organisation.

As mentioned earlier, CFO have lost one of their star players from the 2025 roster in HongQ – one of the world’s brightest prospects.
Instead, the three-time LCP champions are going to build around botlaner Chiu ‘Doggo‘ Tzu-Chuan, known for his confident playstyle.
Only Doggo and substitute top-laner su ‘Rest’ Shih-Chieh have stayed with the team.
Starting toplaner Shen ‘Driver’ Tsung-Hua has left the team, while support Ling ‘Kaiwing’ Kai Wing has joined CBLoL’s Vivo Keyd Stars.
Completing the roster and remaining competitive other the ridiculously high standards CFO set last year will be a major challenge.
Though it appears the team is one step closer with the apparent signing of support Kuo ‘Orca’ Cheng-Han.
The former PSG Talon Academy pro is listed as part of CFO on the LoL esports website despite his signing not being confirmed.
