Valorant community rallies behind Yinsu after Game Changers talent announcement

Following the Riot Games Valorant Game Changers Championship talent announcement, fans of the women’s scene have rallied behind popular host and interviewer Yinsu Collins.

Despite having been a strong advocate for Game Changers since its conception, Yinsu was not included in this year’s GC Championship broadcast team in Seoul.

GC fans react: “Not having one of the most influential, well known and loved women in the scene at GCC is so weird…”

Despite having hosted the Valorant Game Changers Championship since 2022, Yinsu Collins will not host the 2025 Championship in Seoul.

Three highly talented hosts will be featured on the English broadcast. Yinsu herself has offered her support and pride to those taking up the mantle.

However, she also expressed her sadness at missing the Championship for the first time.

In a post on X (Twitter), she explains:

“I am devastated to be missing out on GC for the first time. I love this community with all my heart and it’s taken me a while to come to terms with my failures. I’m sorry.”

Many fans immediately reassured her, offering their support. Others reminded the Valorant icon, “don’t be so hard on yourself.”

Some fans even expressed explicit dissatisfaction with Riot’s decision, with one responding, “Failure??? This is a Riot miscalculation through and through and we will storm the headquarters!!!!!! Ladies rally up.”

Reflections on the brutality of grind culture and fixation on failure, from 2023 Yinsu Collins

Yinsu’s rise through the ranks in esports hosting has made her a beloved UK talent.

In her interview with Esports News UK on football banter, f-bombs, and being in the moment at MSI 2023, she reflected on the brutality of the grind culture within esports that often fixates on failure.

“I think the downside of grind culture and having a goal and aiming for it, and setting the bar higher and higher, is you kind of miss the moments.”

“You get into a mindset of never being satisfied or happy with what you’re doing. It’s only when you look back, you’re like, ‘oh I did that, that’s kind of cool’. But I’m trying to learn to enjoy the moment more, instead of always looking up, as you can forget where you are”

Yinsu’s heartbreaking response to missing the Game Changers Championship 2025 team re-emphasises the harsh reality of esports.

Despite being one of the best hosts in Valorant esports, some opportunities land elsewhere.

However, this in no way detracts from the incredible value Yinsu is recognised for bringing to Valorant and UK esports.

Supporting the VCT Game Changers Championship broadcast: “This isn’t about me but what I can do to support the players/talent and fans.” – Yinsu

Of course, Yinsu has confirmed she will still support the Game Changers Championship broadcast. Instead of being on-screen, she has vowed to watch-party all games from home on a livestream.

Although many fans are heartbroken that she will not be in Seoul, Yinsu has emphasised the importance of continuing to support the women competing in every capacity.

Game Changers is crucial to the continued development of women’s esports. Since the ESL Impact CS2 Women’s Circuit was announced to be indefinitely suspended, Game Changes will become the largest women’s esports ecosystem in the PC game genre.

The continued support for Game Changers by Riot Games will be pivotal to women’s opportunities in competitive esports.

Therefore, viewers should be encouraged by Yinsu’s message to offer their full support for the broadcast.

In her words, “This isn’t about me but what I can do to support the players/talent and fans.”

The Game Changers Championship begins on November 20th at the LoL Park in Seoul, Korea. A new GCC victor will be crowned on November 30th.
