Faker leads T1 to the 2025 World Championship trophy for historic 3rd consecutive win

T1 and Faker have claimed a historic third consecutive League of Legends World Championship, defeating KT Rolster 3-2.

Confirming their reputation as the most dominant esports team on the Global Stage, T1’s win raises the question – will anyone ever match their record?

Faker leads T1 to a third consecutive Worlds title

The League of Legends 2025 World Championship marked Faker’s eighth World Final.

When you track every LoL World Championship Final Faker has played in, he has now won six of those eight Finals overall.

This landmark win further solidifies Faker as not only the greatest League of Legends player to touch the game, but also as the most successful esports player of all time.

The 2025 World Championship Final: a five-game race to the trophy

As expected, T1 made a strong start, winning Game 1 and setting the pace for the series.

However, after KT Rolster won Game 2, T1 appeared to falter.

Their momentum was slow to build, and did not seem enough to take down their LCK rival.

Game 3 saw KT Rolster quickly secure objectives, coordinate in team fights, and overall remain in control of their mission to secure the Championship.

Hitting 30 minutes into Game 3, KT were already encroaching uncomfortably close to T1’s Nexus, applying firm pressure. Only seven minutes later, they secured the win after obliterating T1 in both the mid-game and late-game.

Game 4, a crucial game for T1 with KT Rolster on match point, began far more level, with each side pushing forward in different areas.

While KT led in successful fights, T1 were ahead in drakes and turrets, leading to a close gold difference between the two at 20 minutes. However, the 20-minute mark was a turning point for T1.

Acquiring their fourth drake and gaining a more significant gold lead, T1 surged forward and became far more dominant in their team fights.

With their objective advantages over KT Rolster, T1 surged forward and ended the game in dominating fashion, levelling the series 2-2 and bringing the Final to a fifth game.

T1, in their ever-unflappable and methodical style, were able to take control as the fifth game progressed, slowly extending their gold and objective lead against KT.

By the 36th minute, they had a gold lead of over 11k.

Despite the very best efforts of KT Rolster, T1 took a historic third World Championship title.

T1 and Faker – the eternal dynasty, despite being consistently under threat

T1’s reputation in League of Legends esports is undeniably omnipresent, in the face of wins or losses alike.

Despite LCK teams frequently battering the T1 legacy in their regional circuit, the roster appears tailor-made for the international stage, consistently returning to take the Championship trophy.

Therefore, many ask whether any team will be able to match T1’s seemingly indomitable record.

Unfortunately for any team wanting to replicate T1’s legacy, Faker’s T1 contract will last until 2029, extending his legendary chapter and unwavering commitment to the roster.

For Korea’s most famous esports team, there seems to be no end in sight.

Faker claims another trophy, T1 claims another title, and League of Legends continues to bathe in the light of its greatest icons.
