The reigning World Champions T1 have qualified for the League of Legends 2025 World Championship.
T1 defeated Dplus Kia 3-1 in the Playoffs to secure their place as the LCK’s fourth seed at Worlds.
This is the first time in the history of the organisation that Dplus have failed to attend the LoL World Championships.
Meanwhile, this will be five-time champion Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeuk’s 10th Worlds appearance as he tries to win a historic third consecutive title.

While only fourth seeds, their Worlds track record means T1 will automatically be one of the Worlds favourites on LoL betting sites.
But they almost didn’t qualify.
T1 were staring at their season coming to an end as Dplus won the first game of the series.
Top-laner Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-joon had a terrible time, finishing 0/7/2 on Ambessa as Dplus cleanly picked T1 apart.
As the only new member since T1’s last Worlds wins, there’ll be a lot of pressure on Doran’s shoulders.
But luckily, if he has a bad day, there’s always someone else capable of stepping up and carrying.
This time it was jungler Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun who picked up only the second-ever Jarvan IV penta kill in competitive LoL history.

Oner was in monstrous form, as his 14/1/6 KDA on Pantheon in the next game showed Choi ‘Lucid’ Yong-hyeok was struggling to cope.
T1 were on match-point and Plus were facing possibly not qualifying for Worlds after attending each one from 2019 onwards.
Needing to pull off something special, Dplus support Cho ‘BeryL’ Geon-hee pulled out the bizarre pick of Rammus support.
Unfortunately, the pick was anything but ok as this risk turned out to be a disastrous choice.
Beryl’s nine deaths gave T1 an easy ride to Worlds and ended Dplus’s hopes.

However, Dplus’s season isn’t over just yet, as their loss has actually qualified them for a new tournament.
Riot Games recently unveiled the Asia Invitational (ASI), a new international LoL esports event.
The tournament will invite the strongest teams from the LCK, LPL, and LCP who did not qualify for Worlds.
Dplus will now represent the LCK alongside 6th and 7th seeds FEARX and NS Redforce.
ASI will feature a prize pool of CNY 1.5m (£154k) with the champions taking home ¥600k (£61.7k).
Other confirmed participants include Vietnamese teams Vikings Esports and GAM Esports.
Meanwhile, the LPL participants are yet to be decided.
