British Army Esports took home the trophy at the Call of Duty Endowment C.O.D.E. Bowl VII, an event where members of the US, Canadian, and British armed forces competed against each other. Teams represented included the Navy, the Army, and the Air Force. It was the British Army this time that became champions.
It is the first time the Army has won, with the RAF winning in 2025 and 22, with the US Space Force winning in 2020, Canadian Armed Forces in 2023, and the US army in 2024.
There were a couple of standout individual performances worth flagging for UK readers. Gibbo took home the Monster Energy MVP ring, awarded to the tournament’s top competitor based on stats. The stats include eliminations, K/D, placements and clutch plays. OpTic’s TeeP also dominated the Solo Yolo, the event’s individual free-for-all format, winning it for the second time.
For those unaware, C.O.D.E. Bowl actually is: the Call of Duty Endowment, which is a non-profit organisation founded in 2009 by Activision Blizzard, dedicated to helping veterans find high-quality careers and transition to civilian life after military service. The Endowment has now placed 169,000 veterans into jobs since its founding. The C.O.D.E. Bowl is one of its main annual fundraising and awareness events, bringing military esports teams together for some casual, yet competitive fun.
It’s a solid result for British Army Esports and a feel-good story in an otherwise fairly turbulent week for the wider gaming industry. Well played to Gibbo, TeeP, and the rest of the military teams taking part.
If you’re curious, you can have a flick through of the event to watch the Warzone rounds played out. The game features a few rounds of the various military esports teams in the first few rounds, followed by the creators later on in the stream.
