Former Fnatic League of Legends coaches YamatoCannon (Sweden) and Shaves (UK) have reunited for Karmine Corp’s debut LEC season.
The pair have joined the French organisation in time for the LEC Winter 2024 Split, which kicks off next week on January 13th.
Yamato is head coach while Shaves is an assistant coach. They are accompanied by assistant coaches Reha (France) and Steak (Taiwan), as well as performance coach Clem (France) and head of data Xenesis (France).
Karmine Corp (KC) have joined the European LEC after acquiring Astralis’ slot last October.
Shaves said: “I am no longer part of FNC and have decided to move on. Here, I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this journey from 2020-2023 so special to me. A big thank you to all the fans who shared love and good energy. I will cherish all the memories.
“Next, I can finally announce that I have found a new home and family in KC. It’s truly amazing how much love you guys share. Let’s get it homies.”
Yamato said he was ‘so happy’ to be reunited with Shaves, and thanked the fans for the warm welcome, adding: “I am home.”
Karmine Corp CEO Arthur Perticoz previously said: “We’re not aiming for victory in the LEC, we’re aiming for the World Championship in five to ten years. There’s no point in burning everything to win the LEC in the first year. It would be the worst possible decision and I wouldn’t make it.”

KC announced their 2024 LEC player roster in a four-minute video titled ‘The Escape’ and presented by French telecomms giant Orange.
It consists of Cabochard (France, top), Bo (China, jungle), Saken (France, mid-lane), Upset (Germany, ADC) and Targamas (Belgium, support).
Karmine Corp said: “Ladies and gentlemen, [this is] the team that will terrify the LEC.”

UK coaches in LEC Winter 2024
Karmine Corp’s Shaves is one of several UK coaches working in the League of Legends LEC this year.
G2 has Duffman as assistant coach, while Rogue has head coach fredy122.
SK Gaming has Ewbuff as performance coach (as well as Jarge as head coach of the SK Prime academy team outside of the LEC).
Furthermore, Team Heretics has Peter Dun as LEC head coach.
Team Vitality’s LEC 2024 coaches include two Brits: Mac (LEC head manager) and Carter (LEC head coach).
G2 won the LEC Season Finals in 2023. The 2024 Winter Split kicks off on Saturday January 13th.
