UK esports organisations to compete at Rainbow Six Siege Copenhagen Major featuring UK broadcast talent and watch parties, plus Gamers Without Borders 2023 Europe

A host of UK-based esports organisations are set to compete at major upcoming Rainbow Six Siege tournaments, including the Siege Copenhagen Major.

There will also be UK broadcast talent at the major, not to mention UK and Ireland organisations also competing at Gamers Without Borders 2023 Europe.

This tournament also feeds into the huge $2m Gamers8 2023 tournament.

Siege Copenhagen Major 2023

Ubisoft and Blast have announced that the top Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege esports teams from nine regions will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark from April 24th to May 7th 2023, to compete for the first ever Blast Rainbow Six Major title and a share of the $750,000 total prize pool. 

Making its way to Denmark for the first time, the Blast Rainbow Six Siege Copenhagen Major introduces a brand new format this season, with three phases and 24 participating teams.

The event will welcome a live audience, during phase three and the competition’s final weekend from May 5th to 7th at the Forum Copenhagen in the heart of Denmark’s capital.

The event will feature several activities for fans to enjoy on-site, including a merch store, free play area, retro gaming area, meet and greets with professional teams, and more.

Phase 1 – Play-In: April 24 to 27  

Here are the 16 teams qualified for Phase 1 of the Blast R6 Major Copenhagen: 

  • MNM Gaming (Europe/UK) 
  • Wolves Esports (Europe/UK) 
  • Spacestation Gaming (North America) 
  • Soniqs (North America) 
  • w7m esports (Brazil) 
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas (Brazil)
  • Northeption (Japan) 
  • Varrel (Japan) 
  • Sandbox Gaming (South Korea) 
  • Lavega (South Korea) 
  • Six Karma (LATAM) 
  • Reven Esports (LATAM)
  • Fury (Asia) 
  • Elevate (Asia) 
  • Team Bliss (Oceania) 
  • Team Falcons (MENA) 

UK players include Doki and Blurr (G2), Yuzus, Tyrant and Nafe (MNM), and Runner, Joe and Sam (Reven Esports).

Coming from all nine regions in the Blast Rainbow Six circuit, this phase will promise unique international matchups. The top eight teams in Siege Copenhagen Major Phase 1 will qualify for Phase 2.  

Phase 2 – Playoffs: April 29 to May 3 

The top eight teams from Phase 1 will be joined by the following eight teams that have already qualified for Phase 2 of the Major:   

  • M80 (North America) 
  • DarkZero Esports (North America) 
  • Virtus.pro (Europe) 
  • G2 Esports (Europe) 
  • FaZe Clan (Brazil) 
  • Team Liquid (Brazil) 
  • Dplus KIA (South Korea) 
  • Scarz (Japan) 

The top eight teams from Phase 2 will qualify for Phase 3.  

Phase 3 – Finals:  May 5-7

Phase 3 will take place in front of an audience at the Forum Copenhagen, where eight teams will collide in a best-of-three single elimination bracket for a chance to claim Major glory.

There’s a host of top broadcast talent attending, including UK talent Iain Chambers as host, analysts Fresh and XRTROIKA, observer Shrikel and casters Dezachu, AceOfPyrite and CaptainFluke.

Gamers Without Borders 2023 – Europe

UK teams Wolves and MNM Gaming have also qualified for the Gamers Without Borders (GWB) Europe 2023 tournament, as have Irish esports organisation Wylde and Swiss org Team BDS.

This will take place online from May 11th to 14th 2023.

The tournament has a $625,000 charity prize pool, with first place receiving $300,000 for a charity of their choice plus qualification to the larger $2m Gamers8 2023 tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in July.
