Midlands-based community Electronic Dojo has announced its annual event, VSFighting, will return to Birmingham’s Millennium Point Conference Centre in 2023.

It will be the 11th annual event in the series and will run from Friday August 18th to Sunday August 20th, with sign-ups open now.

The main tournament games at the event will be:

  • Tekken 7
  • Guilty Gear Strive
  • King of Fighters XV
  • Street Fighter 6

Community tournaments have also been announced, including Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Super Street Fighter II Turbo being ran by Virtual Chip Shop. Other Community tournaments that could sit alongside these include Soul Calibur VI, Tekken 3 Ball, Virtua Fighter 5, GranBlue Fantasy Versus, BlazBlue Central Fiction and Mortal Kombat 11.

VSFighting has been running since 2010 and has a huge number of players from all over the world competing, including those from the likes of Japan, Korea, Brazil, USA, Canada, Australia and Pakistan to name a few.

Previous events have been part of the Capcom Pro Tour, Tekken World Tour, Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour and many other world championship tours.

Last August, UK players performed well at VSFighting 2022, with JoKa finishing runner-up in Tekken 7.

Entry to VSFighting 2023

In terms of the different ways to attend VSFighting 2023, there’s a Casuals Pass which allows spectating and community tournaments for £30, and then three different tournament passes: Early Bird for £40, Regular for £50 and Late for £75.

Main tournaments are then £10 entry per game and community tournaments are £5 entry per game, with that money going towards the prize pool for each game.

VSFighting X, the 2022 event, had six main tournaments with prize pools ranging from around £1,400 for Street Fighter V and DNF Duel, to £8,040 for Tekken 7.

Additional information such as accommodation and travel recommendations as well as scheduling can be found on the VSFighting 11 sign-up page here, and there’s more info on the VSFighting website.
