The Riot Games Xbox Game Pass is just around the corner, with a host of details finalised today including launch timings for LoL and Valorant, plus rewards.
The Riot Games Xbox Game Pass release date starts from Monday December 12th 2022. And it will include things like all champions unlocked in League of Legends and Wild Rift, and all agents in Valorant (see more specifics towards the bottom of the article).
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives players access to several games, which will now include the likes of League of Legends and other Valorant games. It starts from £7.99 per month and has a £10.99 Ultimate option with several extras.
And in a first for Game Pass, this partnership between Riot and Xbox extends beyond PC to include Riot’s mobile-only and mobile-accessible titles. So, with a Riot Account and Game Pass membership, players can unlock premium rewards and member-only benefits across the games starting December 12th.
Those who use Game Pass will have their Riot player data shared with Microsoft. This will be gameplay info, which according to a press release will allow Microsoft to ‘determine what benefits Game Pass players use most’.
For a limited time, players linking an Xbox profile to a Riot account will also receive extra in-game rewards (available December 8th 2022 until January 1st 2023. These include:
- League of Legends (PC) – Masterwork Chest and Key
- League of Legends: Wild Rift (Mobile) – Random Emote Chest
- Legends of Runeterra (PC & Mobile) – Prismatic Chest
- Teamfight Tactics (PC & Mobile) – Little Legend Rare Egg
- Valorant (PC) – Pocket Sage Buddy
The news comes after LoL ranked changes for 2023 were announced and Prime Gaming December 2022 offerings were revealed including a League of Legends 1350 RP skin, Valorant spray and more.
How to link your Riot Games/Xbox accounts for Game Pass
Players can link their accounts by navigating to the Xbox Social Sign-in Page. You may be asked to sign into your Riot account and sign in with your Xbox profile to complete the linking process. Access to benefits requires Xbox Game Pass subscription, sold separately, and the game catalogue of course varies over time.
To unlink (and lose member benefits), visit Riot’s account management page and click the minus icon to the right of your connected Xbox profile.
