The ceremony will mark the opening of ESI London 2022, a two-day esports industry festival bringing together some of the leading professionals and companies in and around the esports industry. ESI London 2022 will also feature The Clutch investment competition.

These awards, focused exclusively on individuals, serve to honour those who have best contributed to the development of the esports industry and whose work has made a real difference to the sector.

After taking place online for the past two years, the Hall of Fame awards will finally be returning in-person on September 5th at the gaming bar Platform in Shoreditch, London.

Alongside the Hall of Fame inductee, this year’s awards ceremony sees the introduction of three new categories that will be presented to the individuals chosen by ESI:

  • Hall of Famer – Recognising an individual that has made a highly significant contribution to the industry at large and aided in its growth
  • Rising Industry Star – Recognising the achievements of an individual that is newer to the industry but who is already making a notable, positive impact in esports
  • Youth Award Champion – There are a number of great initiatives both in and out of educational institutions globally in the field of esports which deserve recognition. This award recognises the actions of an individual who is actively contributing in this area and continues to inspire the next generation
  • Community Champion – Esports isn’t all about the top tier competitions and big prize pools. Its potential as a vehicle for positive social impact in local communities is vast, and the importance of grassroots done right cannot be understated. This award recognises some of those making the right moves to support the grassroots and within their local communities

Previous hall of fame inductees include Jason Lake (CEO of Complexity Gaming), Heather ‘sapphiRe’ Garozzo (former Counter-Strike observer and player, and current VP of marketing at Dignitas) and Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez (owner and CEO of OpTic Gaming) amongst others.

In 2018, Carmac, Jason Lake and Chris Puckett were recognised in the 2018 ESI Hall of Fame (pictured, top).

The conclusion of the award ceremony marks the beginning of ESI London 2022. Taking place at Boxpark Wembley on September 6th and 7th 2022, the event promises to offer the very best in networking, education, content, and hospitality.
