ShEsports Cup Euros Edition will see women’s FIFA teams representing England, Germany, France and Spain facing off at London’s Red Bull Gaming Sphere

Women’s FIFA esports series the the ShEsports Cup is returning for the fifth event in its history, this time with four national teams facing off.

The ShEsports Cup Euros Edition will take place on Monday July 25th 2022 from 6pm BST at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, with ShEsports co-founder Rachel Stringer joined by various talent.

The event will once again bring women from the footballing and esports/gaming industries together for the all-women’s FIFA gaming event, and this time with teams of three representing England, Germany, France and Spain.

England’s team features Lisa ‘Jlingz_Lisa’ Manley, who plays FIFA for Jesse Lingard’s esports organisation JLingz, as well as SAF Esports’ FIFA player Miriam ‘FUTHeda’ Musa, and Taylor Hinds, a footballer for Liverpool in the Women’s Super League.

The ShEsports Cup launched in 2020 and is an all-women’s series of gaming events that aims to inspire women to follow their dreams and bridge the equality gap. It is being streamed on PlayStation’s Twitch channel and YouTube channels.

Rachel Stringer commented: “As the nation experiences a short break in what has been an incredible women’s football tournament on home soil, we’re delighted to host another ShEsports Cup and shine a light on some of the best talent across Europe. It’s a huge summer in the sporting calendar and we’re hoping the ShEsports Cup will build on the excitement that has built around the nation.”

George Woffenden, from joint founders of the tournament, Blueprint Sports & Entertainment, added: “It’s a privilege to be hosting our fifth edition of the tournament, celebrating a huge sporting event, and we’re proud to create a platform where talented women in sport can compete and inspire female gamers across the world.”

In other nations-related esports news, the player roster for Esports England and Esports Wales have been announced for the 2022 Commonwealth Esports Championships taking place in Birmingham in early August.
