Riot puts skins used by the MSI champions on sale till 20th July

If you were watching the MSI 2026 Grand Finals between HLE and BLG and found yourself eyeing up some of the skins in play, Riot has you covered. The skins used by winning side Hanwha Life Esports during the finals are now on sale until 20th July, all at 33% off.

The sale was first spotted by the popular LoL Leaks and Rumors social account, and it does indeed look to be true based on our fact-checking.

It’s a neat cross-promotion that Riot has been running for a while now. Its esports events recently advertise the skins that the players pick in game during the laning phase, with in-game banners displaying the skin name and splash art. They also sometimes promo Riftbound cards too. It’s a smart way to capitalise on the buzz of a live event, someone watches Kanavi smash through a teamfight and immediately wants whatever skin he was wearing. Or you got some exposure to a skin you otherwise wouldn’t have paid much attention to if it wasn’t on your screen.

Worth noting that not every champion in the finals had a skin to sell. In Game 1, Lee Sin ran Heavenscale, which is a Legacy Vault skin and wasn’t available for general sale. So, Rito opted for traditional Lee-Sin instead. Orianna also wasn’t wearing a skin at all in Game 1, so she got a recommended option there too. Those are about the only instances we found that did not bang on the mark. Ashe’s Legendary skin for High Noon, an 1850 skin was also on sale, which is noteworthy too.

The sales are naturally weighted toward HLE’s picks given they won the series 3-2. It does raise an interesting question about whether there’s any financial incentive for players to pick certain champions or skins during major finals given how directly it feeds into these post-tournament sales windows. It would be nice if it offered teams more financial incentive for winning a major event, especially with financial constraints in esports at the moment.

If you fancy any of the skins, they are on sale till 20th July. Probs around early evening as that’s when Riot often unlocks champs, puts patches live, PBE launches etc.
