Big UK YouTube and TikTok content creators will once again be going head to head in the Content Creators Cup 2022 charity football match.
This is set to kick off at New Manor Ground, home of Ilkeston Town Football Club in Derbyshire on Sunday June 26th 2022 from 2pm BST. The club play in the lower tiers of English football, in the Southern League Premier Division Central.
All profits from ticket sales will go to Cancer Research UK.
Some of the biggest names from the UK FIFA creator landscape will be dusting off their boots to play: Team YouTube features dead-ball specialist ChrisMD, streamer Danny Aarons and pitchside podcaster Reev. But, Team TikTok boasts some stars of its own, with the likes of Luke Bennet, Angry Ginge and Aaron Hunt taking the field.
Team YouTube has a score to settle after losing 8-3 last year, while Team TikTok are looking to start a dynasty and make it two wins in a row.
Skill-based gaming app Stakester is the lead sponsor of this year’s Content Creators Cup. The Stakester team will be there on the day to test the players’ skills, hand out special Stakester giveaways to fans and film an episode of its FIFA YouTube show, Tuesday Night FIFA.
Stakester CEO Tom Fairey said: “Getting some big names together to put their skills to good use and raise some big money for charity is as good as it gets. We’re proud to support the Content Creators Cup and hope that this is the beginning of a long and successful partnership.”
The Content Creators Cup founding team added: “We’re delighted to announce this partnership and get it over the line, we think it’s a perfect fit for both parties and we’re really excited to get started and show people what’s to come.”
The news comes after UK-based streamer LAMaynard exposed racism in the FIFA community and EA confirmed its departure from FIFA.
