UK CSGO coach George ‘Whitey’ White has today announced he’s joined the academy team of ENCE.

Whitey has come on board as head coach, after his most recent stint at UK esports organisation Endpoint’s academy initiative.

Finnish org ENCE said they were initially looking for a coach with Finnish and English language skills, but signed the 24-year-old former player after he impressed with his ‘courage, passion and sincere will to develop himself and future prospects’.

After the Endpoint academy was put on hiatus, Whitey moved into a content manager role at the organisation, before applying for the position at ENCE.

Whitey said: “I wanted to be a part of the ENCE Academy and ENCE as a whole. From my entire time watching Counter-Strike as a fan, I knew this organisation from the get-go lives and breathes giving people opportunities, and creating stars from that, and that gave me great confidence in applying, no matter the limitations.

“A key thing for me is to keep the players growing, both inside and outside of the server, to make them great teammates and players,” Whitey added.

“I aim to make ENCE Academy the most efficient program possible to give more insight into the fresh talents within the Finnish scene and provide the best foundation for players of all backgrounds.”

Eemeli ‘Woomera’ Ikonen, ENCE Academy program lead, added: “George’s expertise showed in every single stage of the application process that he is the one we should pick. We believe that we have chosen the best possible candidate.

“Tryouts are ongoing, and I can’t wait to fully start the building process with George.”

ENCE are of course a well-known esports organisation, whose CSGO first team plays in some of the top tournaments, including the current ongoing PGL Antwerp Major 2022.

They announced their academy program earlier this year, and said it had been a part of their plans for some time.

Whitey first started playing CS back in 2014 and also has experience in football coaching. He also thanked Neil Murphy, MiGHTYMAX, Wilksyy, Endpoint and Woomera for their support.
