UK esports organisation MNM Gaming are making headlines in Rainbow Six Siege esports yet again – this time they’ve qualified for one of the biggest events in Siege esports: the Six Invitational (SI) 2022.

MNM defeated Cowana Gaming 3-2 today – another side featuring UK talent – in a thrilling and drawn out five-game final.

It was revenge for MNM, who had fallen 2-0 to Cowana earlier in the Six Invitational Europe Closed Qualifier before being knocked into the lower bracket.

There, MNM went on an impressive run, beating Team Vitality 2-0, Team Secret 2-1 and then Cowana Gaming in the final to secure their place in the 2022 Six Invitational.

It’s been an exhausting weekend for MNM Gaming’s Rainbow Six team, who today alone played across eight maps and 90 rounds in a broadcast that was more than nine hours long.

Four teams took part in the closed qualifier this weekend – MNM, Cowana, Vitality and Secret, but only one team could progress to the Six Invitational.

MNM are the latest team to qualify for the Six Invitational, which will see 20 teams overall do battle for the mantle of the world’s best Siege side in Sweden starting February 8th 2022.

Ubisoft previously announced that the 2022 Six Invitational will not have a live audience due to covid safety measures, which was criticised by some in the community. Other teams with UK players in at SI include Rogue and Navi.

Last month, MNM qualified for the Rainbow Six Siege European League, said they will keep their spot and open a new London HQ.

“My passion for MNM and this team has never faltered. I never prepare losing tweets or graphics because I always believe in the system we’ve set up. #ForTheFlame.”

Kalvin Chung, MNM Gaming

All in all, it’s been amazing few months for MNM’s Siege roster consisting of Yuzus (UK), Tyrant (UK), Neonical (UK), Solotov (Turkey) and neLo (Croatia).

Due to MNM reaching SI, the org will be dropping out of the UKIN Rumble due to potential clashes with the bigger tournament:

MNM Gaming co-founder Kalvin ‘KalKal’ Chung told Esports News UK: “When we failed to qualify for EUL 2021 this time last year, our roster was torn apart from teams buying players and players retiring.

“We’ve had to build back from the ground up since August and we went from the number three team in the UK to EU Challenger League champions, a R6 EU League qualified team, and now have made it to the Six Invitational.

“My passion for MNM and this team has never faltered. I never prepare losing tweets or graphics because I always believe in the system we’ve set up. Belief, passion and hard work from the players and staff have got us here in the span of four months. #ForTheFlame.”

We’ve included a selection of celebratory tweets to mark the occasion:
