Another action-packed Epic.LAN event took place last weekend at the Kettering Conference Centre, with esports teams and gamers in the UK joining up to play together.
In terms of the esports tournaments this time around, Valorant, CSGO and StarCraft 2 were the main competitions that took place, plus there were also a series of fun tournaments in F1 2020, Fall Guys, Uno and Mortal Kombat 11, as well as the classic pub quiz of course.
Once again Intel was the main sponsor and Overclockers UK was the headline sponsor.
Firstly, in Valorant, Vexed Gaming beat Jokers in the final, with these teams taking home £2,750 and £1,350 respectively.
Mixenergy finished third, winning £650, and Tenstar Vulcan were in fourth place ,taking home £150.
Then, in CSGO, Team Coalesce lifted the first-place trophy, beating Ratio’d in the final. Lucent Esports finished third. These three teams won £1,350, £600 and £300 in prize money respectively.
UK/New Zealand StarCraft 2 player RiSky won the StarCraft 2 tournament at Epic34 on the weekend, beating Raza in the final, with Zain taking the third-place spot.
These players received £450, £225 and £125 in winnings respectively.
Also, elsewhere, Epic.LAN has this week announced a partnership with UK esports organisation LDN UTD.
Epic.LAN will provide a dedicated instance of its popular tournament platform, allowing LDN UTD to host its own series of in-house community activities throughout the year within its digital economy platform.
Debuting recently at LDN UTD’s Winter Warmup at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, where 90 people participated, the partnership means that LDN UTD can host tournaments for a range of popular game titles for their community, within their own custom branded platform.
