Pokémon Unite patch notes: Tencent to update game with new patch on Wednesday August 18th, new Support Blissey to be added

Pokémon Unite was released on Nintendo Switch on Wednesday July 21^st 2021. Since then, its developer Tencent Games has made various tweaks to fix bugs.

Yesterday (Monday August 16^th) came the most recent round of updates and patches, as well as an announcement that Support Pokémon Blissey will be available to play from Wednesday August 18^th. Continue reading to read the most recent patch notes in full.

Last week, Esports News UK reported that the UK Esports League (UKEL), primarily a League of Legends league, are in discussions with Nintendo about the creation of a Pokémon Unite tournament, highlighting Pokémon Unite’s esports potential. Just after the game was released in July, Dom Sacco wrote this piece for Esports News UK, suggesting that the title is perhaps “the perfect entry point for younger gamers into the MOBA genre.”

Here are the most recent patch notes for Pokémon Unite. Note that these updates will be made at 8am BST on Wednesday:

Changes are also being made to some Pokémon stats and moves to adjust the balance of Unite Battles.

Stealth Rock:

• Movement speed changed

Bulldoze:

• Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased

Dragon Rush:

• Cooldown reduced

Surf:

• Duration of effects on opposing Pokémon decreased

Scald:

• Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon increased

Snorlax

Heavy Slam:

• Damage dealt to opposing Pokémon decreased
