A League of Legends fan popped the question to his girlfriend at the UK’s Insomnia gaming and esports festival on the weekend – and she said yes.
Scott Harding proposed to Robynne Seguin on stage during an interval at the Insomnia pub quiz on Friday April 14th.
The couple first met by chatting in Ali “Gross Gore” Larsen’s stream and playing League of Legends together. They then met up at League of Legends Worlds 2015 in London – and the rest is history.
“I thought no better place to propose than the UK’s biggest gaming event,” Scott Harding told Esports News UK.

“It was a bit nerve-racking at first, but once I heard they were going to do some birthday announcements, I thought I would go ask the question. They agreed and got me on stage.
“We originally met because we both used to watch Gross Gore and we both used to talk on his teamspeak. And it went from that, to her moving 200 miles from Hastings to live with me in Birmingham, and becoming best friends with the person who we used to watch: Ali Larsen.”

So, did the bride-to-be have an inkling as to what was about to happen on the night?
“I had no idea at all!” Robynne said. “He’s always been very romantic though, so it wasn’t unlike him to do it the way he did.
“I was sat at the table and noticed him getting on stage – and then I was called up! I was so nervous, my heart was pounding and I was confused at first.”
A match made in League of Legends
The couple are planning to wed in October 2019 – they hope to have a gaming-themed wedding with some traditional elements.
Some special streamer guests are set to make an appearance at the wedding.
“We have asked Syndicate to attend and he has agreed,” Robynne commented. “He’s also said we can have the rights to use his logo on some things and to email him letting him know what we need.
“There is going to be a strong gaming theme throughout the whole wedding as that’s how we met – by playing League of Legends and talking in Gross Gore’s stream.”

Scott added: “Syndicate said he would be happy to come if he is free and in the country. And one of mine and Robynne’s best friends – Ali Larsen (Gross Gore) – will be there too.”
How much do the couple owe to Gross Gore?
“Put it this way – if it wasn’t for Gross Gore, me and Scott would never have met!” Robynne said.

“Ali knows about the engagement as he was sat on our table, because once he found out that me and Scott met in his stream, he went out of his way to become friends with us and spends a lot of time with us.
“Scott told him that he was going to propose at i60 in January, so Ali was one of the first to know.
“I also want to add that I can’t wait to marry my best friend and my soul mate – I really am very lucky to have him in my life.”
