UK to host CoD World League in London, Birmingham and Sheffield

CoD CWL 1

The Call of Duty World League (CWL) has announced today that it will be bringing three of four of its current 2017 EU competitions to the UK.
It has teamed up with Gfinity, ESWC, Multiplay and EGL to make these tournaments available.
As there are several top level Call of Duty players from the UK, it’s no surprise that CoD is making moves in this area.
The first event is on January 27th to 29th, based as an invitational in the Gfinity Arena, London. 16 teams from Europe will be invited to compete over the weekend. They will have a shot at the CWL pro points up for grabs and at a $25,000 prize pool.
The second on the list is on February 17th to 19th, hosted as part of ESWC Winter 2017 (Esports World Convention) in Porte de Versailles, Paris.
Eight teams from the EU CWL and the open teams will fight for a prize pool of $100,000 and additional CWL pro points per player for the winning team.
The third event is on April 14th to 16th hosted by Multiplay’s Insomnia60 in the NEC, Birmingham. This will also be an open invitational with the top eight EU CWL teams entering the tournament.
The teams that sign up will be competing for $50,000 and another 10,000 CWL pro points per player for the winning team.
The final date is on the 24th to 25th of June hosted by EGL 17 (European Gaming League) in Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield.
As with Insomnia and ESWC, this is another open tournament. The top eight EU CWL teams will be invited and will compete alongside open teams. The teams will compete for $25,000 alongside the 10,000 CWL Pro Points per player on the winning team.
You can purchase tickets to the open events on the respective organisers’ websites.
