Gfinity Arena to host its first live Gears of War eSports tournament

The Gears of War eSports European Open Grand Finals will take place at the Gfinity Arena in London on Sunday July 10th.
It’s the first time the Arena will host a Gears tournament live, and will feature the top four pro and amateur teams from across Europe.
Teams will be competing for a £10,000 prize pool, rising to £15,000 if 32 teams or more take part.
Gear of War: Ultimate Edition players can join the open tournament at Nottingham Forest Football Stadium from Friday July 8th 2016 and continue through to Saturday July 9th.
The grand finals will take place at the Gfinity Arena and studios in London’s Fulham Broadway.
The tournament format will be double-elimination using the game’s Execution mode. Each match will be a best-of-five, while the grand finals will be a best-of-seven.
Teams can enter the open competition via the early-bird rate of £120, rising by £40 after July 1st.
‘VIP passes’ (including access to warm-up stations) cost £160 before July 1st.
Teams that purchase their passes before June 15th will receive the ‘Lambent Splatter’ rare weapon skin for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
