How do you trade Pokémon in X and Y?
You can connect using the 3DS’ infrared connection, via a local wireless connection or over the internet.
We find the easiest way is to connect to your router and going online. Tap the arrows on the bottom screen and head over to the Player Search System (PSS) page. Hit the wireless button to go online.
Tap a friend to trade or battle with them, or tap the grey icon at the top to access the Trade, Wonder Trade (you won’t see what Pokémon you’ll get until you’ve traded) and GTS, which lets you search for the exact Pokémon you want.
Other trading tips
- Certain Pokémon, like Graveller, will evolve while trading. Others will evolve if they are holding a certain item, for instance Scyther will evolve into Scizor if its holding a Metal Coat.
- Some Pokémon may have a different name which has been given to them by their original owner
- Traded Pokémon will level up faster due to an EXP bonus

I’m open to trades for other shiny Pokemon, but I’d really like a shiny Scyther the most.

Mr Curious, I have been playing Pokemon since the days of Red and Blue in the ’90s. I actually ordered Red from the US, before it came out in the UK. Then when it came out in the UK and the whole thing exploded, it was nice to see it get the recognition it deserved.
Sadly as I have a full-time job I don’t get as much time as I would like playing Pokemon. I did use Pokemon Bank last night though, traded over all my favourites including Luxyena, shiny Dialgia, my old Gyarados etc etc.
Hsimah15 by the way I would be willing to trade my level 100 shiny Dialgia for your shiny Scyther if you’re interested.

Hamish, Hidden Ability snivy is unobtainable in X and Y same goes for the rest of the unova starters and the Hidden Ability johto starters. There where no event to get them in Gen V so the hack checker in Bank marks any Johto/Unova starter with there hidden ability as hacks. Believe me i tried. It’s really too bad cause i wanted to breed for a Hidden Ability shiny snivy.
I may try to breed a shiny Scyther. I actually caught a shiny Magikarp last night after chain fishing 56 times and I traded my Yveltal for a shiny Charmander.
So I now have four shinies. Onwards and upwards! I’m after a shiny Scyther and Lucario next.
I have an extra shiny scizor and Lucario if you want them Dom.
I’m currently breeding for a shiny torchic with Speed Boost to complete my shiny hoenn starter collection. After i will go for a shiny Turtwig with Shell Armor. Idk when i will continue for shiny mewtwo in HG.

I hatched a shiny nincada in around 180 eggs. A 2 in 1 shiny!

Cool. I might go for one of those one day. I’m currently breeding for a shiny Chespin. I leveled nincada to lv.100 before i evolved it so i wouldn’t have to train an extra Pokémon.

Nintendo had an offer that when you register a 3DS/2DS and one of six selected 3DS games (I bought Animal Crossing) on Nintendo Club in the month of March you get a free download code for Pokémon X or Y. So now I have a 2nd Pokémon X. I named myself Zach in this one and I’m hoping I will find a shiny during my play through.

Do you have a Nintendo Club account? Do you have an unused 3DS/2DS PIN# and an unused PIN# from one of the selected six 3DS titles?(check Nintendo.com for selected titles). If you do, then yes you can get a Free download code of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.
Just found a 2nd shiny Geodude in a horde while EV training my 2nd Pokémon X Team. Smeargle is just so useful in these kinds of moments. This one is instead male, Rock Head with Sassy nature. I’m not going to evolve this one since I already evolved my other one.
