Pokémon X and Y: Trading centre and chat zone

Are you looking for a certain Pokémon in Pokémon X or Y? Can’t find the trade you want using the in-game Global Trade Station (GTS) or Wonder Trade?
Leave a post below and chat with other users to swap friend codes and trade Pokémon, or take part in Friend Safaris and hunt for shiny Pokémon together.

How do you trade Pokémon in X and Y?

You can connect using the 3DS’ infrared connection, via a local wireless connection or over the internet.

We find the easiest way is to connect to your router and going online. Tap the arrows on the bottom screen and head over to the Player Search System (PSS) page. Hit the wireless button to go online.

Tap a friend to trade or battle with them, or tap the grey icon at the top to access the Trade, Wonder Trade (you won’t see what Pokémon you’ll get until you’ve traded) and GTS, which lets you search for the exact Pokémon you want.

Other trading tips

• Certain Pokémon, like Graveller, will evolve while trading. Others will evolve if they are holding a certain item, for instance Scyther will evolve into Scizor if its holding a Metal Coat.
• Some Pokémon may have a different name which has been given to them by their original owner
• Traded Pokémon will level up faster due to an EXP bonus
