CoinPoker makes $1 million CoinMillion poker tournament a monthly event

CoinPoker has announced that its $1 million guaranteed CoinMillion poker tournament will become a monthly event following two editions earlier this year.

The next CoinMillion will begin on Sunday, August 9 at 4:30 p.m. UTC. Further tournaments are scheduled for September 6 and October 4, with CoinPoker planning to hold subsequent editions on the first Sunday of each month.

Each tournament will retain its $215 direct buy-in and $1 million guaranteed prize pool, with the two-day event giving entrants a starting stack of 100,000 chips, equivalent to 200 big blinds, with 10-minute blind levels.

Late registration will be available until Level 19. Per the announcement, seven players will advance to Monday’s final table.

CoinMillion returns after two events

The opening two CoinMillion tournaments attracted a combined 9,062 entries.

The first was held during CoinPoker’s World Poker Masters on May 10. It received 4,278 entries, with DaniC1994 winning the tournament and collecting $126,500.

A second edition followed during Battle of Malta Online on July 12. That tournament attracted 4,784 entries and was won by monc, who received $121,500.

The two winners collected a combined $248,000 in first-place prize money.

CoinPoker will also give future winners a physical trophy and a permanent digital trophy displayed in the platform’s Trophy Cabinet. Champions will be recorded in a planned CoinMillion Hall of Champions alongside details of their result, prize and tournament field.

Satellite tournaments offer lower buy-ins

CoinPoker will run satellite tournaments ahead of each CoinMillion, with direct satellite buy-ins ranging from $5.50 to $44.

With these direct satellites, successful players earn entry into the $215 CoinMillion, possibly winning their ticket at an almost 40-times lower price in the $5.50 satellites.

For even lower-cost entry into the CoinMillion, players can start with Step 3 and Step 4 freerolls, and move through the Step stages up to direct satellites. Free satellites run up to multiple times every day leading up to August 9th, and give every player a chance to play in the million-dollar event.

Successful satellite players will receive entry to the $215 tournament rather than a cash prize. The platform will also run a series of freerolls and step satellites through which players can progress toward one of the direct qualifying events.
