A host of streamers have joined the Kick Creator Incentive Program, which will see them earn a salary for streaming on Twitch rival platform Kick.
There are 33 streamers that have been announced as part of the program, with a few from the UK, including AverageDad, BeckaTV, Leanne Carr and InTheMudSports.
Ed Craven, co-founder of Kick and online casino Stake, said recently in a blog post: “With our Kick Creator Incentive Program, which will offer streamers hourly wages based on a variety of factors, we believe that all content creators will be supported and empowered more on Kick than on all other platforms combined.
“We understand that the majority of live streamers are small and medium-sized creators with 10 to 1,000 average viewers. We recognise that smaller creators have fundamentally different priorities than the biggest stars out there; they are concerned with their cost to income ratio, their future growth aspirations, and the price of entering an extremely competitive industry.
“Therefore, as a streaming platform, we are dedicated to catering to those specific concerns and continue to actively bring about features that are directly designed for aspirational smaller streamers, designed to help them become the next big thing.”
Kick offers streamers a 95/5 percent income ratio, where streamers take 95% of revenues and Kick takes 5%.
The platform says it now has 12m accounts and around half a million active channels.
