What makes Red Bull Contested so unique? Taking a closer look at the Fortnite LAN with pro player Nebs

Red Bull Contested, the UK’s first major Fortnite LAN, is set to begin this weekend with an exciting format and a new season. This presents competitors with a very unique environment for the competition.

Due to the latest Fortnite season – Chapter 4 Season 3 – dropping the day before the event starts, players have had only 24 hours to prepare any necessary changes to adjust to the update.

Alongside the new season presenting unknown challenges, Red Bull Contested runs in a less-familiar format. Instead of the points system remaining consistent throughout, Contested doubles the point value for eliminations during the final four games.

As a result, players will be launched into a lobby full of fresh challenges. New weapons, map changes, and meta adjustments could result in increased experimentation from the professionals – previous knowledge of their competitors could be rendered useless. In the meantime, players landing lower in the table after the first set of games could make miraculous comebacks in the last four, benefitting from the double elimination points.

In our latest video, we take a closer look at these unique characteristics, featuring our interview with the UK pro Fortnite player Reuben ‘Nebs’ Belisle.
