The networking event will take place at Platform gaming bar’s brand new Canary Wharf venue on Tuesday April 4th 2023 from 6.30pm-11pm. Sign up via Eventbrite here (Note, sign ups are now closed).
There’s space for 250 guests, around twice the capacity of its existing Shoreditch venue, making this Esports News UK’s biggest event to date. It’s for anyone interested in esports and streaming, from org owners to coaches, casters, content creators, streamers, those looking to get into the industry and more.
Casual community tournament, prizes and special guest
The UK Esports Spring Party will also feature a fun Mario Kart 8 esports tournament in a casual community setting, plus some great prizes for first, second and third place.
The prizes for our Mario Kart 8 tournament at the event are as follows:

A special guest record-breaking Mario Kart player will also be in attandance: Ryan’s.
Ryan’s has played at the highest level for competitive Mario Kart Online play since late 2014. He represented Team World in 2017 and 2018 in the annual exhibition match versus Japan, and also represented Team UK/Team England for the World Cup in multiple years and 2022 Euro Cup.
Ryan’s has also broken several time trial world records and is a regular top three finisher in 6v6 tournaments, plus he has won the Mario Kart 8 NSE tournament. He’ll be around on the night to play against guests!
About the Platform Canary Wharf venue and tickets
The venue has more than 20 cinema-style console gaming booths with the latest technology including Philips Evnia gaming monitors.
We’ll also our have friends at Sweet Cabin kindly providing sweets on the night! This is a sweet brand owned and operated by Nathan Edmonds, the other half of our Boomer and Zoomer Podcast.
Tickets will cost £5, giving you access to the event plus food – the classic assortment of Platform’s pizzas. An alternative limited £10 ticket option is also available which includes any drink of your choice.
The ticket prices will help cover the cost of running an event at a larger venue with more staff, and help us hit the venue’s minimum spend requirement.
The UK Esports Spring Party announcement comes after Esports News UK held three sold-out events at Platform’s smaller Shoreditch venue in late 2022: a 7th birthday networking drinks and 2v2 LoL tournament, a Worlds 2022 viewing party (both with Predator Gaming) and a UK Esports Christmas party with AGON by AOC and Sweet Cabin.

Getting to the UK Esports Spring Party Sponsored by Philips Gaming Monitors
The UK Esports Spring Party will take place at Platform, Canary Wharf, 1 Crossrail Place, Unit CR40, London, E14 5AR, in the new Crossrail building.
The tube station closest to the venue is Canary Wharf Underground Station, which is on the DLR and Elizabeth line. These close at around midnight.
There is a London Marriott Hotel nearby for people who want to stay the night, as well as a Premier Inn, Point A London, Lansbury Heritage and Ibis London Docklands in the area.
