We’re delighted to announce a special event taking place later this month – the Esports News UK 7th birthday drinks presented by Predator Gaming. Update – this event has now ended.

This is a free networking mixer event for the UK esports community featuring an optional 2v2 League of Legends tournament, celebrating 7 years of Esports News UK, 7 years of UK League of Legends esports and editor Dom Sacco’s 37th birthday.
The 2v2 tournament was won by DocDa and Lorcz:
It gets underway on Tuesday October 25th 2022 from 6pm BST to late at Platform gaming bar, 2b Worship St, London, EC2A 2AH, right around the corner from London Liverpool Street station.
Free tickets are available at Eventbrite now and are available on a first-come first-served basis (this has now sold out). There will be happy hour (buy one get one free on drinks) between 6pm and 7pm, and free pizzas will be available (subject to availability).
As well as Predator Gaming on board as headline partner, the event will also feature partners Greyscale (handling the 2v2 tournament), Riot Games (providing unlocked accounts and prizes for said tournament – two Championship LeBlanc statues to be precise) and the recently renovated Platform venue.
Attendees will be able to sign up to the League of Legends tournament on the night, with that expecting to get underway at 7pm BST and winners to be announced at the end of the night. It will also be broadcast on the Esports News UK Twitch channel, with production courtesy of Greyscale.
Tournament rules to follow, but it’s expected to be a 2v2 ARAM-like tournament, with the first team to either destroy a tower, kill the two enemy players or get to 100cs winning.
Nicolò Portunato, Platform co-founder, said:
Greyscale co-founder Jakub ‘Atroix’ Szmyt added: “We’re super excited to get more involved with the UK community, and providing additional student opportunity to work in-person events with like-minded people in the industry.”
ENUK editor Dom Sacco commented: “It’s amazing to have events taking place once again, and I’m so happy to get this off the ground. I’ve wanted to host an event for the UK esports community to relax, network and enjoy themselves for ages now.
“I also want to say a big thank you to all of our partners – Predator Gaming, Greyscale, Riot and Platform. See you there!”
