fl0m Mythical LAN is set to start on January 9, with NA Counter-Strike teams contesting the Tier 2 LAN at Las Vegas’ HyperX Arena.
The event is created by the eponymous content creator and former pro-player, Erik ‘fl0m’ Flom, creating an interesting reflection on the growing influence of co-streamers and content creators on the esports scene.
fl0m’s Mythical LAN provides valuable VRS opportunity for NA scene
The LAN, run in conjunction with Monster Energy, will offer a valuable LAN opportunity for NA teams, a heavily weighted aspect of Valve’s VRS ranking system.
M80, NRG, Skinrave, Phoenix, BOSS, Marsborne, regain, and Team Voca will contest the three-day event, with M80 hoping to get revenge for missing out on IEM Krakow due to NRG’s victory at Fragadelphia Miami.
FML is the first LAN event held by the streamer, following online events, the NA Revival Cups, organised by Mythic League and supported by the NA organisation, Complexity.
Esports News UK spoke to fl0m at the StarLadder Budapest Major, with the streamer elucidating his reason for hosting the events:
“You need events like mine, or like Fragadelphia and stuff like that.
Without them, then the region [NA] just kind of falls behind, especially since we’re combined with South America, and they have a lot of closed region events as well.
They can pump the numbers on VRS. Because there isn’t as much support in NA, we have a hard time keeping up with their teams…
So we’re trying to find a way not to combat that, but to make sure we’re on equal footing to give the NA teams a chance.”

FML event displays the growing influence of streamers in esports
In a year which will see Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont’s Los Ratones project debut in the LEC and Maksymilian ‘Drututt’ Przychodzień playing alongside Brandon ‘Forsen’ Wolfgang in the NLC, the LAN proves the power of streaming to influence esports scenes.
2025 also saw co-streaming surpass official broadcasts in terms of hours watched, in a continual trend which has seen viewers seek out new ways of engaging with esports.
Considering the above, fl0m Mythical LAN represents an interesting case study regarding the ability of streamers to capture audiences for smaller events due to their involvement in the event’s creation.
Positive sentiment regarding the streamer may allow fans to engage to a greater extent than otherwise, considering the overall strength of the field.
Certainly, that is true for the talent at the event, with Tier 1 casters Jason ‘moses’ O’Toole and Adam ‘Dinko’ Hawthorne taking on the commentary duties at the Tier 2 LAN.
